Question about Dishwashers

The latch seems to disconnect stopping the washer from finishing the cycle. The dishwasher is Model MDB4000AWA Serial # 15724156UB Pressing on the door seems to keep the cycle progressing. The problem is getting worse.

What could be causing the door latch to release late in the wash cycle of my Kenmore Ultra dishwasher?

The door spring tension might be causing the door latch to become disengaged. Check the level of the dishwasher and also adjust door spring tension. Will need model number to provide more details.

MY FRIDGIDAIRE AFFINITY KEEPS PAUSING DURING CYLES DOSENT MATTER WHAT CYCLE I CHOOSE. IT STOPS ATLEAST 5 TIMES PER CYCLE AND SOMETIME WONT FINISH THE CYCLE. MODEL NUMBER FAFW3801LW3

Hi Brooke, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Often this happens because the washer door is not securely latch or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume cycle. If the issue persists, try reprogramming the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then more than likely the unit has a faulty door latch, a communication error with the control board, or a potential wiring failure. You may wish to reach out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint the exact problem, which can often save you funds and a headache.

Best regards!

Frigidaire dishwasher model # FPHD2491KF

It seems like you are experiencing a faulty door latch and control board communication. This would need to be diagnosed by a technician and the correct part(s) replaced.

Yesterday opened the door to dishwasher, and heard a thud sound. Now the door weighs a ton. I believe a spring/bracket broke, but can find no evidence of it. The dishwasher is working...

Hello,

Either the door spring is broken or the linkage that ties the spring to the door hinge...the springs hook onto the leg/frame asm that supports the tub then the spring fit into that linkage and the liknage fits onto the door hinges.

This link is a parts breakdown for your model and item #6 is the spring and item #11 is the linkage..their is 2 of them (one on the left and one on the right) and its reccomended that both are replaced at the same time

Here is that link so are can get a good look of how and where they go http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/Model-MDB4000AWA/3048/0130000/M0512217/00002?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=MDB4000AWA

Washer goes through cycle, until around 11 minutes until finished it stops, and goes into dL. Will not finish load. What does this mean?

Hi.

the error F/dL means Door Lock Error

The error is prompted when the door cannot be unlocked.

Here possible causes.

Door Latch mechanism broken
Door Switch Assembly defective
Wire Harness from Central Control Unit to the Door Latch or Switch Assembly broken
Central Control Unit (CCU)
Door Lock or Switch temporary failure (it can be reset disconnecting power)

You will probably need to replace the door lock assembly. Parts must be tested first.

Regards.

I own a Kitchen Aid KUD102frss dishwasher. The door is not closing properly. It appears to be the latch. The start button blinks

you might have started a cycle and opened the door by mistake.  try pressing HI TEMP, AIR DRY, HI TEMP, AIR DRY close door to latch, press cancel.
it worked with mine.  you can give it a try.

Dishwasher latch problem

soundslike either the latch itself is malfinctioning or hteswitches on the mounts are going bad, either way a new latch assy 99003347(part number). comes with new latch and switches, goes for abot $40 and easily changed by removing innerdoor panel and swapping out...DISCONNECT POWER FIRST!!!

have you tried adjusting the feet on the front of the washer so it is tilted back slightly .This will stop the water from coming over the little lip on the front of the machine. Some dishwashers also use a little amount of water in the bottom when drying asthis helps to curculate the heat ; leave the washer to complete it's cycle and it should beep to let you know when it is finished
