Replacing a key cap on a toshiba l300 laptop - Toshiba SATP L300D Notebook

Thanks for replying, The retaining clip looks to be fine, no obvious damage, but it came apart in three pieces (two parts of the clip and the key cap itself). After nearly a day of trying I can't get the thing to go back together and sit properly on the cup. There are only a set number of ways it can fit together, and I've tried them all and was wondering if there is 'a nack' to it that I'm missing... Thanks in advance.

If the spring below it is still ok, it will work but if not,. you need to replace whole keyboard.

You need a replacement keyboard. You can get one from ebay for about $25. Just search for "toshiba satellite pro L300 keyboard" without the quote.

Several keys are not working on toshiba L300

Hello,

the problem is from the keyboard. Open the laptop, detach the keyboard from the laptop and clean it. If cleaning does not solve the problem, it means you will have to get another keyboard or use an external keyboard.

Take care.

How can I modify my Keyboard?

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5100, i can slot a screwdriver under the keys and flip them off and rearrange them that way but i am pretty sure that the only keys you can alter through the computer are the Function (Fn) keys.
