I am installing fluidmaster 400arha fill valve, but am unable to adjust height. Lower shaft rotates both directions, but does not click or change height.

I had to retrieve my instruction sheet answer this. According to Fluidmaster, you may not hear clicks as you adjust. As I recall, you have to apply upward pressure on the unthreaded shank as you twist the threaded shaft. As you have no doubt found out, the instructions and illustration 6. are vague about this. Good luck and happy flushing!

Leaking to drain? Adjust float height to keep water below overflow ... or change flapper if it doesn't seal.

Leaking to floor? Check either end of supply line; or check seal between tank and bowl.

Seems to leak water out of the top of the 400a unit

Fluidmaster suggests cleaning the valve per the instructions #12 - 15:

12. IMPORTANT: Always clear sand and rust from system. Make sure

water supply is shut off. Remove valve TOP by lifting arm and rotating

top and arm 1/8 turn counterclockwise, pressing down slightly on cap.

13. While holding a container over the uncapped VALVE to prevent

splashing, turn water supply on and off a few times. Leave water

supply off.

14. Replace TOP by engaging lugs and rotating 1/8 turn clockwise. MAKE

15. Turn on water supply. Adjust water to desired level by squeezing water

level adjustment clip and moving FLOAT CUP up or down along stainless
steel link. Check for leaks, then check for proper flush.

If that does not work:

• There may be debris at seal - repeat Steps 12-15.

• The seal inside the valve top may be damaged -replace with genuine
Fluidmaster 242 seal.

After tank fills up, water continues to flow a little. How do you fix it?

Replace the top cap of your fill valve, or just the fluidmaster seal disc. Here is a link to the Fluidmaster fill-valve Instructions.

I have installed a fluidmaster 400 bottom inlet

I have installed 400A or 400LS valves on systems as low as 30psi, but below that I don't know that it would work very well if you needed it to fill faster.

Keep in mind that your pressure to the toilet will be 1/2psi for every foot above the fill level of the tank, which is reduced by friction loss in the pipe and fittings on the way to the toilet.
