The thermal paper is wrapping around an upper roller. Inside the sandwiched layers is the fax. This just started happening.

HV sapphire 930 not feeding properly

When stitching together a quilt sandwich, it is recommended to use a walking foot on your machine. The walking foot moves the upper fabric in conjunction with the feed dogs. Sometimes, if the quilt sandwich is not too thick, a roller foot can also help but may not be sufficient for a quilt sandwich.

You may also check the presser foot pressure on your machine. This regulates the amount of pressure the presser foot applies to the fabric and the feed dogs. If the pressure is too strong, it will tend to push the upper layers of fabric, creating a bubble look. If the pressure is too loose, there is not enough pressure for the feed dogs to physically pull entire quilt sandwich under the presser foot.
(The pressure is adjustable depending on the types of fabric and thicknesses being sewn.)

Faxes are being received as black pages, nothing readable

Long time since I used one of these, and as plain paper faxes are so cheap now I do wonder why you persist with this old technology? You can purchase an all in one printer for under £50. Pick one with a built in LCD screen and you don't even need a PC.
Getting back to your current problem, it sounds as if the paper has been inserted the wrong way around. Try taking the roll out and checking again the correct way to put in the paper. Or maybe the paper roll has been out of its plastic protection for too long causing the paper to degrade. Once it has been exposed to light it is like a film for a camera, it is no good. If this has happened you may try unrolling two or three of the outer layers and cutting them off, and then reload the paper and try again. You may be lucky and find that only the top two layers have been damaged.

The paper in my fax 575 always get jammed when receiving a fax.

Rubber rollers in the paper path probably have lost their grip; the surfaces become glazed and slip instead of transporting the sheet as they should.
Gaining access to the paper path varies in difficulty since many later units may be partly snapped together and use few screws for assembly.
If you decide to attempt this, use a hard cloth and naptha (lighter fluid) to scrub the rubber rollers; this should produce some black smears on the cloth if the rollers are glazed. Don't use alcohol since this will dry them out further. Naptha is safe for most plastics and aggressive enough to cut the glaze. While you are inside, check to make sure there are no scraps of paper complicating things.

Faint print after installing new roll of paper

Is it thermal paper?

Try pulling off about 12" of paper and reprinting. Sometimes the outter layers are damaged somehow.

Is the spring on the roller bar good?

Paper rolling up with the thermal film

The best thing you can do, short of launching the thing into inter-galactic travel, is to clean all of the plastic parts of the machine with an anti-static cleaner. Particularly, the roller that feeds the paper and the carbon roll. Remove all paper and carbon film and unplug the machine. Clean inside the paper housing and the feed rollers before turning it back on. It sounds like a build up of static electricity, a common problem on such thermal based fax machines. Remember, the paper has the propensity to curl because it is on a roll, so any extra help it gets will send it curling like mad. Good Luck.

There was a paper jam, I cleared it and it will not reset. The machine won't print at all, just keeps showing paper jam.

There are flag sensors in each machine. The have to sence if the paper is moving properly through the machine. They are sometimes black in color, that flag sensor might be jammed in an up postion, or broken look at where that paper stopped and look for a flapper toggle unit that senses the paper. There also might be paper still in the machine, check the fuser unit, the hot area look to see if paper has wrapped around the upper fuser roller.
