After lamp replacement

I replaced the lamp in tv it restarted fine picture is great. NOW when I turn off the tv it begins to start up but shuts off and the two red lights indicating lamp failure are on. If I slid out the lamp and then push it back in the tv starts up fine. I have to do this everytime I shut it off. Is there a reset? or what can I do?

i have same issue. Replaced lamp, but I have a feeling lamp was not bad in the first place. I get sometimes one red light by lamp, sometimes both red lights, if i re-seat the lamp, it generally works fine.

I have the same problem. However, My Optoma RD65 TV's OEM lamp is OSRAM 120W/1.3 E23. I got the replacement lamps OSRAM/100-120w/1.0 E23h and OSRAM 100-120w/1.3 E23h, both started the first time and would not start up subsequently thereafter. However, they would start up after re-seating the lamp assembly. My OEM lamp has no issue in start-up.

I notice that the E23h lamps have a smaller coil (inside the lamp) while the OEM E23 lamp has a bigger coil. Perhaps this bigger coil is that Optoma TV needs to start up the lamp. Based on what I read, the replacement lamps sold on ebay are all China-made knockoffs that nay not be the exact OEM-German made OSRAM. So buyer beware!! My experience speaks for itself.

Exact problem. I got a replacement for just the lamp, but I think they sent me a Philips bulb.

My replcement bulb exhibits the same problems described. Bulb was replaced a couple of days ago and the TV now takes a couple of trys to fire up.

Yes - I bought the bulb from EBAY and it appeared to be identical to the one that I threw away. It fired up properly the first time and start-up problems appeared the next day. I have turned off the set completely by using the swithc on the left side of the television which may explain why i have not needed to re-seat the bulb assembly.

Same problem!  Replaced lamp with OSRAM E-23.   TV will not restart.  However, if I remove the lamp assembly and re-install it will come on.   There appears to be a protective  circuit that is tripping.  Possibly it is static electricity.

Optoma RD50/RD65 uses E23 5Kv precharge lamp. E23h lamps from ebay are 15Kv precharge. The letter h from E23h indicates High precharge voltage, 15Kv. Check out my other post here:

Insist on E23 with 5Kv precharge or it's not going to work on Optoma RD50/RD65. I ought to know, I bought 2 lamps E23h on ebay to find out the truth.

I just replaced my lamp. TV seems to be working fine, but I kept on getting the message saying time to change lamp. I went to the service menu using Menu 6-1-9 Menu, and try to reset the lamp life, but it's not letting me do anything so every time i turn on my TV, I am getting that error message.

as well as in your manual. Sometimes the lamp must be reseated
by removing it and reinstalling it with great care making certain
the door and all the gaps are closed tight.

If the lamp replacement or reinstallation does not solve the
problem you will likely need a service tech to look at the tv
as there are few user serviceable items for Plasma sets. Most
of the repairs are done by computer connection that downloads
the error messages and interprets what went wrong.

Hope this helps.

You have to reset the clock that times the lamp.Hold down the volume button(first you turn on the TV) while holding down the PiP button or the swap Button on the remote. that fixed mine.
