Why wont all ps3 controllers connect to my ps3

On the back of your PlayStation controller should be a little hole that is used for resetting the controller back to how it was out of the box. It should be to the right of where the screw is in the middle of your controller. Insert a paperclip or anything small enough to get in there and it will hit the reset button. From there plug in your controller into the PS3 and allow it to resync. PlayStation support.

Tip

Sync a ps3 controller to a diffrent ps3

Using a PS3 controller charge cable (the cable that connects your controller to a USB port on a PS3), connect the PS3 controller to the console you wish to sync it with. With the cable still inserted, press the PS button in the center of the ps3 controller. The lights on the PS3 controller will flash for a moment, and then a controller number will be assigned to the new controller.Your PS3 controller is now synced to the console, and you can unplug the charge cable. Repeat these steps when you want to sync your controller with a different console. If you ever need to reset the Bluetooth connection of a PS3 controller entirely, locate the small pinhole on the back of the controller. By using a paper clip or other thin object to press the button inside this pinhole, you can reset your controller and its Bluetooth connection.

Why-controller-not-connecting-to-console-with-or-without-USB

I usually know this is what most people do but have you followed the instructions on how to connect the controller to the PS3?

Basic steps are as follows:
Plug the controller w/ cable into ps3.
Turn on Ps3
If automatic pairing doesn't occur press the PS3 button and it should sync.

If it is brand new the batteries might be discharged and you will have to wait for them to charge up, i'd suggest a full charge (30-40 minutes sometimes) for best results.

Did you buy a PS3 controller or accidentally buy a PS4 controller? There can be a difference in wavelengths and design that is very important (beyond that they are two different versions and two different prices).

Did you buy it used, pre-owned or new? This will dictate the possible past issues had by previous owners and why it was being sold, or that you can get a new one with receipt to replace this defective one. (I say used and pre-owned as two different categories more to cite sources of vendor than actual conditions. Used would be by a friend or a non-business entity and a Pre-Owned would be by GameStop or the like who is sort of known to not accept broken devices).

Also as a last resort, on the bottom of the controller near the warrenty sticker is a small hole, stick a pin in there and hold it for 5-10 seconds. This will reset the hardware. Try the above steps again. If all else fails contact Sony CS as they are the only ones who could know whats going on... beyond a third party electronics store.

Hope any of this helps!

SYSTEM DOESN'T RECOGNIZE CONTROLS HOW DO I FIX

I'm guessing the issue is that the PS3 isn't responding to your controller input.

Ensure that the PS3 controller is actually on. You can turn on the controller by pressing the Playstation button in the center of the controller. There will be a red light on top of the controller indicating that it is on.

If no light shows up, it's possible that the controller simply has dead batteries. Grab your controller charge cable (should have been included with controller, looks like this) and connect the controller to the PS3 while the console is on. Give it a few minutes, then press the center Playstation button again and see if it responds.

It's also possible that the controller just isn't synced to your PS3. Again, grab the charge cable and connect it to your PS3 while it's on. Then press the Playstation button while the controller is connected. It should sync it to the PS3.

If none of that is working for you, there may be an issue with the controller itself. The easiest fix it to reset the controller. There should be a tiny button in a hole on the back of the controller. Just press it (you'll need a paperclip or something to do it) and the controller will reset. I believe you'll have to re-sync the controller (using the cable again).

You should also try syncing other controllers to your PS3 to make sure that the issue isn't with the PS3 itself (which would be awful; I've never heard a PS3 breaking like that but I suppose there is always a first). If other controllers work then either your controller's battery is dead or the controller is actually broken. I don't think Sony repairs/replaces controllers so you may have to buy a new one.

It may be worthwhile to checkout their support page first, to see if anything helps before shelling out 50$ for a controller:

Sony Support
Sony Repair
Amazon - PS3 Controllers (I recommend Silver; it's ****).

Hope it all works out!

The wireless controller takes to much time to connect the ps3, i try with other controller and still the same, and i cant get to the net.

Seems like you might have an EFI (Elecromagnetic Interference) problem. Has this always happened or is it just starting to happen?
################## JUST STARTING
Have you entered any new electrical equipment to the area? If so, try removing that equipment and check to see if it works. If It does, you just simply can't have that device near the PS3. If it doesn't work still, try contacting sony via 1-800-345-7669 ##################
################## ALWAYS HAPPENED
You have a defective PS3 and should return it before the warranty runs out. ##################

Sony play 3 wirerless controller brand new turn it on and just four lights blink?for about 3 minutes then shuts off

Hi there. To fix this you will need to register your new controller with your PS3.

Do the following:

Connect your New PS3 controller to the PS3 with the USB cable. Followed by the PS button on the new controller. This should send the driver to the PS3 so that it recognizes that you have a new controller.

How to play blue ray dvd

Insert the Blu-ray disc into your PS3. Start up our PS3. Connect your controller. Using the controller, move along the cross menu bar to the Video option, and you should see the movie listed as an icon just like a game would be. Select it and it should load and start playing.

If you are having issues with it loading up, there may be a conflict with the console and the DVD region. For example, you can't play a DVD from Asia or Europe on a North American PS3.

Good luck.
