Unfortunately, that's an ongoing problem. Websites are no longer optimized for dial up connections. Make sure your phone line is in good shape, the connectons do get worn out. Also, go online and check to see if there is a software or firmware update for that modem. There are also a ton of free connection diagnostics you can get for free on google. Make sure in control panel that all of your connection settings are optimized for best performance. Go into your modem configuration in control panel and make sure the speed is set to at least 56k in the settings
