Question about Karcher 2500 PSI Pressure Washer

1 Answer

I temporarily misplaced (not lost for good) the owners manual for my honda pressure washer : engine and pump. I do not want to run my machine again until I verify the pump oil content/level. On the pump itself, at the top, there is a black, unscrewable oil cap, with blue-ish oil in it, BUT NO DIP STICK! How do I check the level? What kind of oil, specs etc? Thanks!

Husky 2600 pressure washer with honda gcv160 engine. engine won't run with choke off.

I bought mine at Home Depot, the pump failed after about 8 hours of use then Home Depot agreed to replace it now it failed again after aabout 10 hours of use. This is a piece of crap and Home Depot should be ashamed for selling this junk. I am sure they are in with Husky and making big dollars on a crappy product. My machine is like brand new just will not work. Now the carb has to be replaced only after less than 20 hours.

The pressure washer will run for a few seconds with good water pressure, then something in the pump causes the engine to shut off and all pressure is lost. Trying to restart the engine is almost...

Most likely you are haveing a problem with the water valves inside of the pump. Honda does not make pumps they make the engines and if you have a honda engine its the best engine for powerwashers . S o what you need to do is look at the pump and see who made the thing . If its a simpsion or a cat pump these bolth are vary good pumps . It could be a miti m pump there ok but tend to have problems with the valveing . The kits are cheap enough for all of them about 60 or 70 dollars . So let me know how many horse power the engine is and what kind of pump you have and the gal pr munite aswell as the max pressure out put of the mechine how old is it and ware did you buy it Most of this information will be on a metal tag on the water pump or the frame of the mechine. A nd i'll tell you if its worth saveing Pier_j

Pressure stops and starts intermittently

With the engine turned off, pour liquid TSP into the fresh water inlet until it comes out the other end at first just water that is already within the pump will come out but make sure you put enough TSP that it starts to come out the wand outlet. Then, let it sit for 48 hours and don't run it at all. This is how I fixed my no pressure problem tomsimmonds@yahoo.ca owner of Honda 5.5 with Comet pressure washer pump

What type of oil is needed for a Honda GC160 Power Washer? Honda 2500 PSI x 2.3 GPM.

The type of oil recommended for that engine is SAE 10W-30 and the capacity is 0.61 quarts. This and more can be referenced at the website at the end of this solution. I was able to find the owners manual of your particular engine.
