Question about Computers & Internet
This is nota virus infection, you merely don't have spce to download or install programs or updates. This solution would be to install on a larger partition. If you want to keep your files and settings, get a USB flash drive and use Documents and Settings transfer to save your files and settings. If you want to keep all your programs too, do a full windows backup onto an external hard drive or the sort. Thenafter reinstalling your os on a larger partition, restore your compter from the backup or the fDocument and Setting tranfer. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Assuming you're running Windows, a 12G partition is not really large enough as you already found out. It may be large enough for the operating system itself but not much else. Most likely, your temporary internet files, recycle bin and other "stuff" are also on that drive. One thing you can try is the Disk Cleanup tool. On XP go to Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Disk Cleanup. The default options are usually good but check them carefully. Also, don't compress old files. That can make your system run slower. You should be able to free up enough space to download your antivirus updates. Consider this a first step - you should investigate a larger partition for your OS. Make sure temorary files, program installs, etc. are going to a different drive and you should be cleaning up OS updates and removing programs that you are not using.
