Is this the MC 1391 IC?

  • robert neilson Dec 09, 2009

Yes, I replaced the MC 1391 on one of the units and this fixed the problem, however on 2 other units it did not fix the problem.

yes , i changed the yoke, also replaced the horz. output xistor and replaced the horz. drive xistor as well. Have you run into this problem as well on the Wyse 150? Bob

Check its LOT [Line Output Transformer and HOT [Line Output Transistor for fault. Repalce both of the at the same time, if the Line Output Transistor found leaky or damaged.

RCA MOD# 20-f-514-TD Chassis#ATC-116 SER#1054e6j09 c231 Will not power-on. There is a led red light blinks and makes a audio noise every time the light blinks

Either your RCA tvs LOT [Line Output Transformer] or its drive transistor [horizontal output transistor is faulty. First replace the Horizontal Output Transistor. It can be located very near to the LOT said above, be screwed onto a metal heat sink to radiate heat away from it while it works. It is a three terminal device, black in colour. Unscrew and desolder it out of the printed circuit board and check whether it has caloctor to emitter or collector to base leak . If it found leaky there is a possiblity of LOT damage. Anyway replace the said transitor first. After replacing, switch on the set for a short period of time, say 3 or 4 seconds only, unplug it from the power socket, and feel the heat effect of the replaced transistor. It may get warm, but not too hot. If it heats up abnormally, surely the LOT said about is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number.
When selecting LOT, insist on orginal replacement, as substitutions will detereate the picture quality and its life time. If you wants further assistance, feel free to get me through Fixya. OK.

Saving things in the WYSE WY-150

As far as i know the monitor can do very little and internal storage capacity is not big at all.

The wyse 50 terminal does not work properly

Wyse 50/60/150/160 monitors were my specialty!

From what you were explaining it seems to me that you have a bad internal battery and it needs to be changed and a factory reset/ calibration needs to be performed.

I can repair wyse terminals at my facility if you like. The repair cost is not that high and we can also perform the regular repair and adjustments on all wyse monitors if needed.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Wyse S10 and Windows 2008 Terminal Services

The Wyse S10s require a firmware update to connect to Windows Server 2008. This is due to lack of support for RDP 6.1.

The update I've found to work best is

The only way to get this update is to contact Wyse. However, I have deployed it on numerous clients (our entire base is S10s) and had great success.

Do you have a print screen button, sometimes abbreviated PrtScr on the keytops. I would get the contractor back on site and have them setup the machine so you can print, they left the job unfinished and I would emphasize that when you call back.

Where can I horz output for my tv?

You can get one from Here
I would only use the original part. This site I gave you is for the original Horizontal output transistor. If the part goes bad again, or runs hot, the capacitors in the circuit or the flyback is bad. Good Luck

Monitor problem

Your monitor is starting to go bad. Time for a new one. This can be repaired, but not really worth it, unless you are a trained tech who knows how to refurbish monitors.

If you know how to solder and can do some board repair, then replace all of the capacitors in the power supply part of the board and maybe replace the Horz. Output Transistor (HOT).

Since it is a CRT, dump it and get a LCD.

Will not turn on.

  • proceed as given after your power supply is ok (your statement)
  • isolate power supply from h/output stage.
  • check diodes & capacitors connected with flyback transformer.
  • check for print short.
  • ckeck h/output transistor.
  • connect supply to h/output stage.
  • put on the set.
  • hope this will help.
  • good luck

still there is a drop in voltage then your fly back transformer faulty.
