You should check the remote cable on the amp which connects to car stereo if its connected.

07 ram. Clarion vz401 has blinking red light, thats it! Disconnected everything and checked fuses. Everything is fine. Will not power on no matter what i do

Hi Deli:
My suggestions:
- Use a voltmeter to confirm power supply
- Make sure power supply connected to correct wire.
- Confirm that unit is properly grounded. If ground wire, use continuity meter to confirm that ground wire is indeed grounded.
- make sure speakers are properly connected.
And last, but most important, Did the unit work before you tried to install it. There's not much fun in trying to make a dead unit entertain you.
Hope this helps.

Unhook then rehook up everything.....If that doesnt solve it then you probably have a short in your wiring somewhere....Try powering off entire system and only hook one sub up at a time.....With only one sub hook ed is it still doing it????? Make sure you disconnect the speaker wires from the amp, not the box....

Tried all that and still mine is in protect mode. Every other amp works fine on the wires but that amp is an epic fail. Solution: DO NOT BUY THIS TYPE OF AMP...

Model-m 255 clarion installed in a pontoon boat. RADIO WAS WORKING JUST FINE, THEN I INSTALLED A (NEW) BATTERY FOR MY BOAT, HOOKED EVERTHING BACK THE SAME WAY. NOW, I HAVE POWER BUT (NO) SOUND...

Disconnect all the speaker leads and then hook one speaker (a new, known to work speaker) up directly to the radio using a short (6"-12") piece of speaker wire. Does that speaker work then?

My Clarion APX480M marine amp cuts out at random

try to unplug each speaker one by one while playing it. There can be a defective speaker that grounds out at the speaker terminal or internally causing the amp to go into protection causing all the speakers to go out.

Fuse for pwr amp.

Hi,

For a single Clarion APX480M, the inline fuse should have a rating of 40 amperes.

Incidentally, perhaps a copy of the installation manual would be of use to you. One is available here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Clarion APX480M amp

This sounds like a signal problem. Make sure that all of your signal cables are plugged in fully. If all are, you need to check for coninuity between the shield ground of the head unit's RCA jacks and the case of the head unit. With no RCAs plugged into the head unit, you should read ~0 ohms between the shield of the RCA jacks and the case of the head unit.

Protection light and nothing. ??

How about the speaker itself? This problem can be caused by a blown or defective speaker. If you disconnect the speaker wires from the amp, do you still get the protect light?

400 watt amplifier not working

Disconnect all the speaker wires from the amplifier that runs the 6-speaker system. Switch off the amplifier or disconnect the remote turn-on wire, then re-connect it. Does the power light still flash with no speakers connected? If so, your amplifier is probably damaged. If not, then connect one speaker and see if it plays. If it doesn't, disconnect the first speaker and connect a different one. If the first speaker plays, continue connecting the rest of the speakers until you find the one that's causing the problem.
