How to change the blade height on a power devil lawn mower

On some mowers, you would have to remove the bolts for the wheels, and reinstall in different holes.

Where is the safety switch to engage the blade

Your lawn tractor will have a lever that raises and lowers the mower deck which houses the two cutting blades. By lowering your mower deck to the desired cutting height, the blades should automatically engage. By raising the deck back to it's highest position, the blades will automatically disengage. Should be simple enough. You can consult your mower manual. If you don't have one, you can easily find it online using the make, model and year of the lawn tractor.

I have a Honda HRX217 versamower and I would like to know where the wheels should be for the highest height for my lawn, or should I buy a riding lawn mower to get more height. My lawn is dying with

Move the 4 wheel adjustment levers to the number 4 position which is all the way forward (towards you if facing the front of the mower) and that is the highest setting which is about 4" cut height. Each number for the lever position represents the inches in cut. In between numbers is 1/2" so in between 2 and 3 would be 2 1/2" cut as an example.

Front wheels on manual mower lock when pushing for awhile.

1 Locate the height adjustment lever on the inside of the left rear wheel.
2 Kneel next to the mower and push the left height adjustment lever toward the center of the mower. This will unlock the lever from the locking pin on which the height is currently set.

3Rotate the lever toward the front of the mower to lower the height of cut, or toward the rear of the mower to raise the height of cut.

4 Release the lever over the locking pin closest to the desired height of cut.

5 Repeat these steps with the adjustment lever on the right-side rear wheel. Be sure to set the right wheel lever to the same position as the left-side wheel's lever for an even cut.

Need to know how to properly set the guide wheel heights on the mower deck and the blade height for proper mowing heights.

with a marker, mark on the front of the deck where the blade height is, and do the same on the back, do this so you can get your measuring tap in there.play with the adjustments till you get the front and the back the same height,it should be around 5 inches florida up north 3-4 inches. it is hard to find a mower that can be set for 5''. the shorter you cut the grass the more watering it requires. check your grass type and search it's cut height and food requirements for you area or growing zone, for a happy healthy lawn.. jay the pump repair guy in longwood Florida

How do I raise the blades

there should be a big bar on the right side of the mower that changes the deck height. if it only going up a little look for a height limiter dial on the other side of the mower about where the height adjustment bar is on the right side.

New mower hit small stump, cuts too low now/ can't adjust height

It is a bend blade. I feel your pain...I had a riding lawnmover that took a good two-hours to take apart and chage blades and 3/4 of an acre with old ornamental garden root balls popping up all the time. That was a long summer...

You may want to get the blade ahead of time so whomever can help you look under the mower can change the blade once they confirm it is bent. Even if they can fix the old one it is a blade you will need sooner or later and they are not very expensive.

I would like to buy a petrol lawn mower, i have found out there are mulching lawn mowers on the market, what are your views on this type of mower

Mulching mowers are great if you dont have the time to rake the excess grass or the means ( time or ability) to dispose of te collected remains. The mower will mulch te grass right back over te top of the cut grass with minimal apperance of grass being left behind, if you kep up on the cutting schedule that is. Better for larger areas where "lines" would usually remaine with a non mulching mower.
