I was also suffering this problem with Nero 6. To solve your Problem first make sure that the windows you are using that supports your Software if supports, then your Optical Drive may not Write in high speed 16x or 18x, write your files in DVD in little bit slow speed, after doing all this if it gives same problem then Please reinstall your windows you are using.

Hi I have an LG DVD±RW, it used to work properly but few days ago i tried to burn an iso. image it didn't work Device: [1:0:0] HL-DT-ST-DVD-RAM GSA-H55N 1.02(E:) (ATA) Firmware Version: 1.02...

According to the log file, there was a spindle servo failure. The spindle servo is responsible for maintaining rotational speed accuracy. I'd say your drive is pretty much dead. See if you can read a disk in the drive. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a tough time just reading files.

Write Error

That's almost an adequate error description! It is odd that a 24x CD speed description is given for burning in a DVD-RAM; what media and session types did you pick? If there is nothing (hair, fingerprints, soap...) on the particular disk preventing a burn, perhaps something has a write lock on dlgbrnst.cpp so it can't be reeled off to DVD-RW?

Factory default disc on acer 4520G

Hello,

If you have Nero of Power ISO installed you can right click the .iso file and there should be a command in the shortcut menu that states "burn with Nero" or burn iso with Power ISO, etc. this should apply to other disc burning software you have installed.

As you may know, .iso files are a compressed disc image file that contains the data layout for a complete CD or DVD. Most of the time, burning an iso image from first opening your disc burning software is more difficult but can be done by hunting through your software's menu commands.

Hope this has fixed ya!

DVD BURNING : TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND CPU USAGE GOES TO 60%

Based on the laptop model you have listed, I am afraid to say that there is not much that you can do about the time it takes to burn DVDs. Computers often come with re-writeable (RW) drives that have different speeds. Thus, on older laptops or desktops, the drives are very often slow and will take a large amount of time to burn a full DVD. As for the CPU usage, writing data from a hard drive to a DVD or a CD is a very memory and performance heavy task, especially on older computers. You can attempt to free up resources by closing as many non-essential programs as possible prior to burning a DVD... but that will not dramatically increase the speed. Not using the laptop for other purposes while it is burning a disc may also speed up the process.
