new camcorder the cd for software installation will not work with vista

Sony says Vista should have the drive for this installed, but it says it can't find a driver for this.

vista will not recognise the sony picture package software disc which i originally used on xp. camera is sony dcr-hc19e mini dv digital camcorder

You can search the manufacturer's website for updated software for Vista. Or provide the manufacturer and model information here for the camcorder and I may be able to do some or all of the search for you. There may be a possibility of checking the software manufacturer's website but that would require the software manufacturer's name and the name and possibly version of the software for me to assist in that search.

wagontrain - here is a link from sony india that might be of interest. It appears that not everything works the same as your old software though.
