This is usually caused by a virus/trojan horse infection. Run your anti-virus software to identify the virus and then follow it's instructions on how to remove it. If all fails you can reformat but that would mean losing all the data that is currently on your hard drive and starting over. Hope this helps.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

When I try to schedule a task I receive this Error A6A3B6B2-1EA5-4C5A-BD20-3E6A6A8E429B and it says THE TASK IMAGE IS CORRUPT OR HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH.

Contrary to the above answer, you absolutely CAN use the task scheduler to power down your computer.
Your task scheduler is corrupt, and needs to be rebuilt.

You will need to edit the registry to fix this problem.
Follow the instructions via the link below, 1st answer @ the top of the page.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-performance/task-image-is-corrupt-or-has-been-tampered-with/91c0aef2-fa32-4795-8eb2-5c109cabe550?auth=1

1. Back up your registry FIRST.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/back-up-registry#1TC=windows-7

2. Navigate to the key, HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Schedule. See image below.

3. The schedule key will have several subkeys located on the right side of the registry window. Single click on the Schedule key on the left of the screen, and you will then see all of the subkeys display on the right side of the window. Delete all of the subkeys on the right side of the window (ONLY), and reboot your computer.
4. Test by scheduling a task.

Microsoft office word 2003 on vista takes ages to open and close but seems to work ok once opened. Any ideas?

Vista is notoriously slow due to built in error checking during file access. Consider upgrading to Windows 7

After I press ctrl alt del, and choose to start windows task manager, nothing happened

I would run a system repair on Vista.
Look up 'repair' under the Help option.

I am having AVG Pro. on my Vista. Now I con't use

Go to AVG's homepage and look for a removal tool. Uninstall the software and download Microsoft Security Essentials...It's free and perpetual. You may also consider upgrading to Win 7 or downgrading to XP. Vista is the reason many folks are back to XP and Microsoft's reason for creating Win 7.

Unable to create system restore point

GOOGLE found:

Run services.msc and make sure Volume Shadow Copy is stopped. Then locate and delete any System Volume Information folders on the root of any volume that was previously being monitored by System Restore. You may need to alter
Folder Options/View tab/Advanced in order to see these protected system folders. Reboot the system and retry turning it back on.

Can't run Backup discs. Using Home Premium software and Vista

Questions that I have to ask.
Did you make restore disks when you first bought the Machine or software?
Did you make your backups on the machine you are using?

I normally have to go to a factory reset, and reload programs and saved files. I have had this machine 5 months, I gripe like hell when my old software does not run, after it has updated. Factory settings allow me to run old software.

I am using Windows Vistra Home Predium with Service Pak 1 and Service Pak 2.
