How can I photograph shiny stainless steel objects, without getting a reflection on the surface?

You will need a light source that does not reflect. Typically, you can move the lights so the reflections don't show, or use a very large lit surface so the reflection is softened.

Since polished subjects do reflect, you may find that you need some reflections just to show that the object is shiny.... Without that, it won't look right.

No gps signal

The issue normally occurs when device does not have a clear signal view of the sky.

Your device requires a direct line of sight between the receiver and the satellite. When an object lies within the direct path, accuracy suffers due to reflections and weakening of signals. This can be the cause of lost signal in urban environments, within valleys and on mountain slopes. In all three situations, the objects (buildings and the Earth itself) are substantial enough to completely block the GPS signals. When weak signals are received, they may have been reflected off buildings and the surrounding landscape. Reflections generate multi-path signals arriving with a small time delay at the receiver. This results in inaccurately calculated position.

To troubleshoot a signal issue first you reposition the device in the vehicle and allow it a couple minutes to recalibrate its new position. If there is no signal in the new position, step outside the vehicle with the unit. Perform a reset by pressing the reset button. (Found on the side or back of the device depending on your model) When the unit powers up, allow it a couple minutes to recalibrate its position. If the unit receives a single outside the vehicle but not inside, than there is something interfering with the GPS signal. Do you have a large windshield overhang? Do you have a dash camera? A satellite radio? Try turning off those devices to see if your unit will receive a signal.

Please call Rand Tech Support if the unit continues to fail with receiving a signal after trying the above recommendations.

We installed 2 dusk to dawn lights and they keep flickering on an off, randomly, throughout the night.

They flicker because the light is reflected onto the photo cell. Sheild the photo cell from whatever may be reflecting the light such as a building wall or over hang.

Safehouse alarm model 49-307 I have gotten two of these units in the past 3 months on ebay, they both worked fine at first then the announcer gets stuck once in a while. I am very dependent on this unit...

these look like infrared reflective units. not sure what you mean when you say they get stuck, are they staying on or do not turn on? either way they may need cleaning or they got out of adjustment? the need to be clean so the light can be reflected back to the unit. so try cleaning the sender and the reflector. and also make sure they are aligned correctly. if you have cleaned the outside try taking the cover off an old one if you have one yet and looking to see if dirt or cobwebs and get inside them and block the light. there are a few spiders that like ir lights and build nests inside them.

my cameras attract them all the time and i see the webs in the image and it turns on the recording mode so i get recordings of spiders build nests on y cameras. good luck

What is the meaning of symbols in the logo of st.john hill academy

The Meaning Logo i believe is:

logo1.gifThe clover or leaf-like ornament with four lobes found in the logo is called a Quatrefoil. It is found throughout the architecture of our building. It is most prominent in stone work above the main entrance. You will see it at the top of the Gethsemane window. This shape has sometimes been interpreted to represent the four Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

The shadow effect around the Quatrefoil represents diversity and growth, which are a part of our mission.

The four diamond shapes, also a Quatrefoil, represent the four traditions that came together in 1957 to form our denomination, the United Church of Christ. Those traditions are: Christian, Congregational, Evangelical, and Reformed. St. John Church was originally part of the Evangelical tradition. The uneven or jagged edges represent movement, calling us to always move forward with the spiritual, compassionate, nurturing, worshiping, learning, and fellowship focus of our mission.

Hope this helps. from fixya

Uncontrollable mose

Check if the surface you operate on is not reflective. Sometimes on reflective surfaces the light/lazer of the mouse is deflective that causes it to move.

Please rate.

When taking pics of paintings or sculptures, have flashback glare

The glare is from the flash and/or direct source of light behind you or from the reflected angle. The only way to get a super detailed, glare free picture from a 90 degree angle of the surface is with no flash and all sources of light being soft, really bright, and /or indirect. Have you seen the large white inverted umbrella things on movie sets and such? That is what you need. Another option available, which I use on my ebay pics is to take it outside in the sun and take the pic from a slight angle. This gets the big fiery ball off the item and your shadow does not interfere. Cut yourself some slack because the pro quality pics of artwork are done in a professional photography setting like a studio or with lots of on site equipment.

Seeing the blue green and red lights through the screen

I hate to be the one to say it, but it sounds like the mirror broke in transit. I've had several where this happened without the person handling it noticed, or at least said they didn't. Usually on a 51" magnavox you must first have a star driver or a star bit. For some reason they decided to change from the standard when building these. First, pullthe screen saver and frame towards you with both hands. There are clips that hold it in place and it will pop back in place easily. Then remove all star screws around screen frame and slide out carefully. Screen can slide out of frame so hold on from bottom and top. This will reveal the tubes and mirror. Most screens and mirrors are 100.00-300.00 so use caution not to scratch anything. Good luck, Russmann.

Mitsubishi Model No VS-5069

You will need to contact a glass place to cut a new mirror that has the reflection paint on the outside of the glass instead of what most mirrors have them painted on the opposite side . Good luck
