The card needs to be formatted in the camera you intend to use. (download any pictures from it first)

I have a Kodak Easyshare CD40. It use to work fine but, now I can not down load my pictures to the computer. As soon as I turn the camera on (while it is hooked up via usb to computer) the green "on

If your photos are stored on a memory card in the camera, then remove the memory card and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Then connect the USB card reader into the USB port on your computer, the computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the folders and photo on the memory card and copy them to your computer.

Memorycard is protected kodak easyshare c180

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I need to purchase a memory card for a kodak

The CD40 uses MMC and SD cards. MMC cards are a dying breed, so I'd suggest SD cards. You can find those in a variety of sizes at just about any department, electronic, and office supply stores. You can probably find them at drugstores and supermarkets, as well. You can also buy them online.

Be careful to buy SD cards 2GB and smaller, not SDHC cards 4GB and larger. SDHC cards look identical but will not work in the CD40.

My Kodak EastSgare CD40 will not come on, even

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

If issue persists, call 1.800.235.6325 for repair.

Thanks.

Memory card errors

Could be a camera problem or a card problem. Best way to check is to reformat the card in a computer (do a long format), then reformat in the camera and see if it works.

If not, try a new card. If that doesn't work then you have a camera problem.

Cards don't last forever, so it's most likely that your card has just worn out. Some cameras are more sensitive to this than others, or it could just be a cooincidence that it's only happened in the Kodak up to now.

Put an update on here if this doesn't work, I check threads every couple days and I'll see if can help more.

According to the specifications, there is no flash memory card slot in this model. The only way to transfer pictures is via serial cable to your computer.

Micro SD 2 GB just stopped working

The PIC or EEPROM inside these cards may not be working. I guess you best bet is to buy a new one try Kingston brand or go with another Sandisk.
