Go to this web site and enter the SERIAL number from the bottom of the case. This is a very specific number that Acer uses to make sure that the individual with this particular laptop gets the right discs that were assigned to this particular model. These discs will run approx. 20-25 bucks and you'll probably get them in a week. Good Luck, ParrotHead PC Repair

You have several options, like contacting ACER for a restore disc and make a USB installation with:
Of course you will have to use another PC to make it. You can also use a regular Windows installation disc, but you may need to locate the drivers on your own.

Need factory restore for aspire d257

You may be interested in having a look at "How to restore Acer Aspire One Netbook Back to factory settings" on YouTube.

But don't forget to backup your files before you do that.

Have you considered "just" doing the system restore and setting it back to the point of time when everything was working properly?
(In this case the path is " Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore).

I'm trying to restore my laptop back to factory settings It's windows 7 the cd disk don't recovery disc don't work

Have you tried while in Windows, to use the Start Menu, find Acer on the All Programs list, and locate the recovery utility? I have an Acer laptop - an Aspire - and had to do exactly that. I used the built-in recovery routine on the Acer Laptop and was able to rebuild my laptop to the condition of when it just came out of the box, brand new.It will delete all your installations since you got it, applications and documents and photos, etc., will be gone, but your laptop will function as if brand new. Good luck with it. -a.

How can i reset my sons acer aspire one notebook. He put a password on it and cant remember it so it needs to be reset

When does the netbook prompt for a password? Is it as soon as you switch it on, or just when you get to Windows? Some Acer Aspire Ones glitch and either put a password in on their own, or corrupt any password entered manually. Correcting this problem is quite technical and involves flashing the system firmware, which can be a problem in itself if the system wants a password as soon as you switch it on.
If it is a Windows password, this can sometimes be removed with software, but it would need to be booted from a CD containing that software. You may need to take (or send) the machine to a computer technician.

I know this is not very descriptive but I'm not a computer guy but my ACER ICL150, 5315 is FUBAR'd I would like to just restore back to original condition but it did not come with any CD's is there any...

When you power on the Notebook, press the ALT button on the keyboard & continously tap the F10 key whilst the alt button is pressed in. Once the unit has passed the Acer splash screen it should start loading something called a RAMDISK.

This is the built in Acer Recovery software on the machines hard drive. Follow the instructions to do a system recovery. If all goes as it should the Unit will we restaged with its original factory settings & software. YOU WILL LOOSE EVERYTHING ON THE HDD by doing this so be carefull and save anything you need before doing this procedure.

Need a restore disk for acer laptopex4420

Thank you for using
FixYa for your problem

Windows 7 and Vista has a feature called System Restore that automatically backs up registry and system files whenever you install new software or drivers. This feature is useful when you install evil software that makes your computer run really slow. But don’t worry, System Restore won’t remove Windows Vista.

Using System Restore in Windows

There are two places that you can use the system restore feature from. From within Windows, you can just type restore into the Start menu search box, and you’ll immediately see System Restore at the top of the start menu:
now just follow it all

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Acer eData Security Management

I have searched the Acer website and the user guide for your model and can find no reference to the edata software referenced. I think that a system restore is what you need. Per the manual press alt-f10 to enter the utilities and create a system restore cd and an application restore cd reboot with the system cd and restore the computer to a factory fresh condition. Remember that no user data will be saved so if you have documents or pictures etc. make a copy first. Good Luck

I need more information about the condition as we may not have to totally delete and reinstall software. Have you tried to safe boot and then do a restore under accessories-system-tools-restore?

What have you installed lately?
