Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier

1 Answer

HP Officejet 7310 AllInOne. 1.Had paper jam, carefully removed jam. (happens from time to time no prob). 2. Prob - after this latest jam, paper feeder no longer works properly. 3. When printer feeder takes in sheet of paper, it's like one side of the intake pulls harder (my left side) which bunches the paper and creates a paper jam, every time. I did feed a thicker paper through to clear the way in case something was jammed, but there doesn't appear to be anything stuck in there. Passage is clear. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think you need to clean the back rollers of the printer.

Follow this hp document and it should clear up the issue. The error is for out of paper but the fix is the same. Step four is the one you need.

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Document feeder is jammed and doesn't copy or fax

Is it jammeded or is it simply a warning saying it is?

Remove all paper and attempt a paper feed without paper.
The paper feed and delivery trays are removable so remove them and carefully reset them.
Making sure the paper is well fanned reload and retry.
Come back with the result.

Document feeder works for printing but not for scanning

Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!
