My Rainbow E2 low setting isn't sucking air, no bubbling at all.

The low setting is so low that in most cases it will not disturb the water like you may be used to with the high setting. This is normal.

How do i make sand on little alchemy

Rainbows don't really trap as much in the water as the salesman says. That's why they don't want you to suck up drywall dust. To the extent that dust floats in the air, it also stays just as suspended in the bubbles as they go through the tank. When the bubbles pop at the surface of the water in the tank, much of the airborne dust isn't trapped and gets sucked through the motor. The idea of sucking gunpowder through a Rainbow sounds interesting. There's sparks flying around the commutator in that motor and you could possibly have dust going through. Id like to watch you suck up gunpowder.....from a distance.

Rainbow Overflow .. HELP

Hi, there is no reset button on a Rainbow vacuum. There is a safety switch on all E series and E2 series Rainbow vacuums, that keep it from running without the water basin on it.
If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,
Ralph
One other thing, water sucking through your vacuum should not hurt it. It is not good though, but will not make it not run.

Thank you again,
Ralph

No power

You must have a late model 2006 or newer E2 two speed Rainbow vacuum that has the white foam padding in the canister, to dampen the sound of the motor, and has a red light on the computer board.

I hate to tell you, but your computer is most likely the problem, and is out on your E2 two speed vacuum.

The only solution is to get a new computer for it.

It is realy not worth replacing it, because it may also be the motor. The E2 is a very high tec system, and is not like any other vacuum. When you turn it on, you are not turning on the vacuum. You are turning on the computer, which is controling everything.

I could supply you with another canister, if you are interested.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,
Ralph

I am interested in bying Rainbow cleaner, i am not shure about my electical supply. I live in Europe, and wee use 200v insted of 110v so I need a transformer. Could you specify The power in watts and ampers...

If I may comment, as an allergy sufferer and service tech, and former Vac Store Owner, etc, a Rainbow, IMHO is a waste of time and money.
A Rainbow or REXAIR works on the basis that it filters dirt through a water tank, with a `centrifugal separator` when in fact as it runs, it actually humidifies with dirty water, releasing nasty stuff back into the air.
Although the motor is good quality the humidity often causes rust damage as the vac ages leading to VERY expensive repairs with proprietary parts.
Test the filtration theory for yourself, do two things, pour a packet of orange drink crystals into the bucket with water and run the vac , you will smell the orange because it is being mixed with moisture and released into the air. Dirt will do the same. I have done this in front of a Rainbow Salesman in my girlfriend`s home, he was speechless...
Also pull the exhaust plug cap from the back of a rainbow after it has been used and wipe the dust from the inside of the cap. The dust should not be there if in fact the vac is all it is puported to be, but you will find it.
There are some excellent vacs in Europe, SEBO and Nilfisk are two with exceptional filtration. and are both very tidy to handle when emptying. They will also provide excellent tools with good cleaning results. Miele also makes several very good units, which should provide years of service.
For my money, it would be SEBO....Just remember, when it rains , the air smells great , but the street is still not clean, water and dirt dont mix

Possable broken/Disconected wire

hope you have checked the obvious first ..the plug are all the conections tight including the fuse? if so check the vac's switch for loose conections .lets face it the mains feeds the switch the switch feeds the motor unless you have a speed switch. sounds like a fault that could be cured with a bit of investigation good luck farr64

Rainbow SE vacuum cleaner has no power

Invert the vacuum cleaner without the water tray installed. With the machine unplugged, give the separator a spin clockwise. If it spins easily, this is a good sign. If the bearings are good on an SE, you should hear the faintest of rapid clicking sounds as you spin the motor. This is the sound of the brushes as the commutator segments pass under them. The brushes on SEs will sometimes hang up and not make proper contact; they are too precise a fit in their holders and the carbon dust they generate plus a tiny bit of moisture will cause them not to extend as they wear. When this happens, the brush tension spring overheats, relaxes, and it's time for new brushes and a service. Anyway, if you determine that the motor is turning smoothly (resistance or binding indicates bad bearings), install the water tray dry, plug the vac in, switch on, and give it a couple of bi__ch slaps with the palm of your hand on the side of the vac near the top. This can sometimes free up a stuck brush but the effect is likely not to last. It will, however, give indication of whether the machine might run or not after a fairly cheap repair (under 100 dollars).

Rainbow SE makes Squealing Noise when switching it...
Posted by ray_s51 on Apr 20, 2008
My Rainbow SE works and runs strong but when I switch it on and off for approx. 20 to 30 seconds the motor makes a loud squealing noise. Do I need to oil something or what? Nothing smells, it does not make the noise all the time, but it does more often than not. Thanks

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum.

The Rainbow has 3 fans in the bottom of the motor and if they are weak they will make noise from the motor unit. Watch out… the repair of the Rainbow may exceed the cost of a new motor of which will solve your problem of noise and separator --- compare the cost and the labor and make a decision. The separator is part of the armature, the separator should be able to be removed and that might be one of the things making noise. As normal maintenance the separator should be removed and cleaned after every use and re-installed, then place a newspaper or towel under the motor unit and turn on the Rainbow and spin the moisture out of the motor unit. This should be done every time you use it. If you have further questions please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer. .
