Question about HP Wireless Optical Mouse
I use a HP wireless optical mouse with the wireless keyboard that came with the Pavilion PC nearly 4 years ago. Recently the mouse has been eratic, somtimes stopping altogether. Even with new batteries it now only works properly if the receiver is within 6 inches. Any ideas on what may have happened?
Ref wireless mouse. Not sure if you have a solution yet but it seems there could be 2 sources to the problem. First a weak or decaying laser. Second, something you have introduced recently that could interfere with the wireless signal eg mobile phone, another wireless device, cordless phone, telephone wires close to receiver or maybe something else. Not sure what you do if the laser is failing other than clean the lens. You might have to get it checked or try a friends mouse to see if it is better. There s also a setting than can change the sensitivity of the mouse. Have you looked at those settings.
