Won't turn on

Your power supply sounds like it is broken. Bring your computer to a computer engineer and get them to install a new, or if you are able to do this yourself, you can find cheap power supplies on amazon.com.

I was just scanning my acer using nod32 antivirus after several hours of used then it just suddenly turned off by itself showing a blue screen first then shuts down. After that i couldn't turn it on...

If it does not turn on again, the problem does not lie on the software but on the hardware of your computer.
Probably the fan inside the Laptop is blocked by pile of dust, or probably it is on the power supply inside the laptop.

Whatever it is if the laptop don't turn on, bring it to the experts(Computer Engineers)

My acer computer trys to start up when i press the power button but then shuts down by itself before booting up. is this a hard drive problem or something else? thanks, bret

bret5110,

Your system may be running issues during it's POST (Power-On Self Test). Does the system make any beeps or noises (Sounding somewhat like Morse code) during the startup? If so, record the number and length (Short or long) of the beeps, and check with your computer manufacturer for what the computer is trying to tell you. It could be anything from bad RAM, issues with the HDD (Hard Disk Drive), or even the motherboard itself.

Another issue could be the system is overheating. When you turn the system on, do you hear the fan begin to spin? If not, you may need to replace the fan out.

Hope this helps.

Laptop shuts down

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Purchase a can of compressed-air, and give your computer a "blow-job", to remove the dust, because the dust is acting as a layer of insulation, trapping heat inside your computer.

Reload the battery.
Connect the AC power.
Start your laptop, and check that the fans inside the notebook computer are pushing air out of the exhaust-vents. If not, the fan(s) have failed, and you need a professional computer technician to disassemble your computer, and fix the fans.

Acer aspire one, won't wake up from sleep mode, screen blank

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to have to turn off my computer EVERY time it does this. (I have not been able to shut down the laptop normally because it goes into sleep every time.) I've heard that after 3 hours it builds up an eletrical charge and you have to take the battery out, but I havn't had it on for 3 hours at a time.

Computer shutting down

  1. Be sure your power supply is working and charging battery
  2. Allow battery to full charge
  3. Be sure PC is cold not hot or warm
  4. check if before shutting down PC fan is starting: if not starting PC thermal protection can be triggered and your fan out of service.

Powering up but after a few seconds it powers down again.

Check the fan and make sure it is running. It will shut off if it gets too hot which can be caused by a fan failure. If the fan is okay, you may need to reseat the heatsink and reapply fresh thermal compound to it. Oh and please take a moment to give this solution a fixya rating. Thanks! :c)

Computer shuts down for no discernable reason

Im not a expert but my opinion would be to just buy a new power supply. Installation is easy. Thats one thing that gets replaced most often out of all pc parts. I would wait for a expert opinon though, good luck
