Hi, their is no switch or key to get it working, on this car it should start working as soon as you turn the ignition on so as your driving it should be charging.
the only reasons it may not be working could be a fuse or some one may have shorted it out by leaving the cig lighter down to long.
have a look in the glove box and see if the owners handbook is in their if it is have a look in their at the fuse box diagram and locate the fuse for the aux cig lighter then check if the fuse has blown, if it has blown their should be a spare fuse in the fuse box and it should tell you this in the owners handbook, if how ever the fuse is ok then this means some one has shorted the lighter out and the only way of getting it working is to get the main part replaced and as this is higher car its something you wont be doing.
i would check the fuse and if its blown put the spare in or if their is no spare then it would be worth buying one as they cost next to nothing to buy.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
as you've already tried two different chargers, it sounds clear that it's not a charger problem. But, did you try also a different cigarette lighter? The problem may due to your car CL over power (maybe a fuse went...)
If it doesn't work please let me know, we'll try smth different.
Hi. I just bought an in-car charger for the 7211 on ebay. It is 5v with a 2amp flow. It's not for the mini-USB port on the side but for the dc input hole on the other side. I've just plugged it into my laptop via the mini-USB port to see if it will charge that way but it doesn't seem to be doing. Hope this helps.
possibly a spike through the ciggarette lighter plug, try putting slightly larger fuse in ( 4 or 5 amp )
temporarily and see if it blows the slightlty larger fuse. if it does it's more likely to be something wrong with the ciggarette lighter socket if it doesn't blow the fuse it's more likely to be the power supply. Ebay for another one perhaps ??
