Red dots on your plasma can appear because of a too high voltage to the plasma panel.

This can be caused by a bad voltage settings, or bay faulty control panel, and has nothing to do with sustain board.

Try resetting settings to factory default.

This is done by pressing Mute followed by 1, 8, 2, Power in sequence to enter service mode. In service mode select RESET, so to reset to default and exit.
Do not touch anything else or the TV may have more problems afterward.

If that does not fix the problem, call a technician to verify if the panel is faulty, or to test high voltage to panel (that is not just a plain volt reading).

Red dots on dark back ground screen

for this symptom (over diffusion) the voltage for Vsetup has to be decreased, or for opposite (under diffusion) has to be increased. These would be on your sustain board Y. Make very SMALL adjustment, as this can be very touchy potentiometer. There is a sticker on back of panel that will have all the voltages for Vs, Va, Ve, Vscan; these are very important, have to be spot on.

Red dots all over screen poor picture more when

This is a "mal-discharge" fault & will need either an adjustment on the Y-Sustain board or a software update to the control board. Contact your LG dealer to arrange someone to sort this out for you.

LG plasma have an amber light when turning on then green then red

After all the research I found out that the IC on the Z board is bad and new board was ordered and replaced. The plasma work fine after that and picture is excellent with the new board. This forum is great, without this I couldn't fix it myself. Thank you.

Blue tints w/ tini blue dots

if you see blue pixel type groups of squares or dots you may have a burnt light engine and this is common in many LCD rear projection sets; a blue screen may mean the engine became burnt--LCD rear projection sets of this kind have an optical enginge--with red, green, blue prizims--sometimes they get burned by the lamp---a photo would tell me or most techs what the problem is---the cost of a replacement engine is very expensive--some models with this problem are covered by Sony even if the set is no longer in warrant

replace the sustainer boards should correct this problem. New sustainer boards may cause red and green pixilation. If this happen, replace control board and TV is as good as new.

Red dots on my LG 42PX5D

Hello, you do not need to replace any of the sustain boards in your TV to fix the problem you are having. All you need to do is remove the back cover and make an adjustment to the Y sustain board. You will need to adjust the set_up & or the set_down! If you would like to do the adjustments to your TV please feel free to give me a call or message me. Ask for Dave! 1-503-432-9904 or message me @ You will need to remove the stand & the back cover. Then put the stand back on the TV so that you are able to set the TV in the up right position with the back cover off! Then you'll need to hook the TV up to a DVD player so that you are able to pause the picture while you are doing the adjustment to the Y sus! Do not adjust any other adjuster on the Y sus other then the SET_UP or the SET_DOWN. In order to identify the correct adjusters on the Ysus just look on the board and it should say SET_UP & SET_DOWN next to the correct adjusters. If you need more help please feel free to give me a call or message me!

Hitachi Plasma EDTV has green dots flickering all over screen

that is called diffusion. that can be adjusted out in most cases by adjusting the y sustain pcb but can also be the main pcb, the logic pcb and panel itself but not likely.
