Question about BenQ MP610 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Benq Projector MP721 stops illuminating after about 1 minute on. The lights are as follows: Power: Off, Temp: Red, Lamp: Green. Shortly after the projector shuts off. Thoughts?? My assumption is that the device is telling me that the lamp is OK, but I have a heat issue. There are two fans that are positioned to the left side of the projector that appear to be functioning properly.

It might be dusty enough to hold in the heat. it needs a good cleaning. use canned air. if you still have an issue, the fans might be running too slow or the thermister (temp sensor) may be faulty. sometimes if it gets too hot in there, the thermister needs to be replaced, too.

I have a Benq w710st DLP projector and when i turn the power on after a minute it turns off. The power button turns off and both the lamp and temp lights turn red. How do I fix this and can I do it my

New bulb is probalbly needed. You need to find out what zero means on that projector. The real problem is finding out why the cooling fan is not turning on. This is probably the reason that the temp light is coming on.

Benq w1000 project not turning on

Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

Green light flashing and then shuts down

Hi Gary

Have you resetted the lamp timer ? It must be done when a new lamp is inserted into the unit.

You can reset the lamp timer by holding the up arrow key on the Projector in until a online message appears. Then just follow the on-screen instructions.

If the problem persists , you will have to replace the Ballast wich is the lamp's power supply.
