Don't know if you have solved this yet but I found a good tip on fitting a drum belt to a machine that doesn't have tension bolts (i.e they are fixed).

First put the belt fully on the motor pulley. Now fit the other part of the belt onto the main pulley as much as possible on the right-hand side (looking at the machine from the front). Secure this part in place with a cable-tie (if you haven't got any go and buy some). With the tie in place, rotate the drum from the inside counter-clockwise and the belt should feed onto the main pulley correctly. The cable tie will either snap when you do this or you should cut it off after the belt is in place.

This worked for me.

What's your problem?i am trying to fit a drive belt to a hotpoint wma66p washing machine but cant stretch it around motor pulley and drum. i cant see a tensioner bolt. is there one?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
There is no tensioner bolt as such; tension is just maintained by the motor support bolts. Please see my notes on belt changes ;-0)

The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT AGAINST THE MOTOR OR FRAME; THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Drive belt requires to be replaced. Have got correct one, however, seems too tight to fit round wheel and pulley. Access is only through top of machine so this does not help. Is there a tool or technique...

What is the easy way to fit a drive belt to a zanussi washing machine fla1001w

Disconnect from the mains.
Remove the back, slacken the clamp bolts holding the tension on the old belt next to the motor.
Fit the new belt, tighten the tension on the belt and tighten the clamp bolts.

Replace belt on Hotpoint Aquarius WM31 washing

Hi.
Remove top cover of washer.
Remove rear access panel.
Slacken off the motor fixing bolts, and pull motor towards drum top.
Fit belt round motor pulley first, and then feed it round the drum pulley from the rear of the washer.
Tighten motor bolts just enough to hold motor steady, and pull motor towardsa cabinet side to tension belt, it needs to be farly tight.
Then tighten motor bolts securely.
Fit back top and rear covers.

Need to replace a drive belt on a washing machine

You need to slacken the motor bolts, this will then hinge closer to the drum to help release belt. Some belts are still a bit tight even with the motor loose.

Hotpoint wd420

your drive belt runs from the elec motorpully and then round the drum ?? so if yo look at the motor you will see it resembles rather like car alternator ?? and is fitted with a method of adjustment much the same ie a slide adjust bracket ? which you will slacken bolt/nut to enable motor to slide to a point enabling the fitting of belt? then with a suitable imlement? swing(lever )the motor till belt is taught and re tighten adjust bolt/nut also check the pivot mounting bolt/s/nuts are tight hope this helps

How to get back off to put belt on samsung b1445s washing machine

See if the motor has adjustment , ie a slotted fixing hole, slacken the fixing bolts slightly and motor may move up and down to give adjustment, put the belt on and then put some tension on the belt once fitted by moving the motor down and tightening the motor bolts at the same time.
Or if no adjustment put the belt on the motor spindle first and then the drum by turning the drum as the belt is eased onto it.

Ariston al1256t bearing replacement

Hi

I just did this on a different model - it is a normal (right-hand) thread

This is best done with the machine lying in its front.

1 - If it's a Torx screw (probably a T40), buy a torx bit for a rachet spanner - Halfrauds do them for about a fiver - you may need an adapter as well if your rachet is 1/2 in drive. This is far better than using a bit in a screwdriver handle.

2 - Heat the pulley around the screw (careful use of blowlamp) as it's fitted with thead lock compund and this helps to soften it.

3 - If that doesn't do it, try a cold chisel and hammmer to knock it around - you need to break the thread lock initially. You might need to replace the bolt after this :-) and you need to be careful not to break the alloy pulley.

4 - If after removing the screw the pulleyt doesn't come off, try heat again and wiggle it off rather than a straight pull.

Bear in mind that after removing the pulley spider, getting the old bearings out and the one ones in is also best done with gentle heating and is not a trivial job.

Use blue thread lock compound when reassembling as this will come off easier next time.

Whole job, start to end took me took 3 1/2 hours

Ricko
