Question about GE Microwave Ovens
More than likely, the little lever behind the button has broken. You may notice there is less resistance when pushing the button, but perhaps not if your model has a spring behind the button as well. If your handy, you could remove the front panel and take a look at it, but if you dont feel comfortable doing this, it may be equally as expensive to repair this as it would be to buy a brand new one. I'm assuming its out of warranty at this point, but if not, send it back!
