After recharging battery on my 1992 Mercedes e300 24V W124 the alarm fob does not reset the alarm and the car is steanded on the drive. I cannot isolate the alarm unit as the Security key foir it is missing. The Key Fob has a good battery and appears to be sending a signal out. Is there a reset procedure that needs to be followed after disconecting battery ?

Hi, Sounds like you removed the battery to re-charge this then needs to have the computer system re-set before anything will work back to normal. Hopefully your nearest dealer may be able to send a mechanic out to try & re-set the computer. Should you ever have battery problem next time re-charge whilst battery is still in car with the connectors still attached. Please leave me feedback, Malcolm Campbell.

SOURCE: mercedes 1999 c200 key fob

Hello Haq!
Could it be the key just needs re-coding? maybe you are worrying to much as £177 would be about right as that would need coding etc., Try phoning your local Merc dealer or take the key and V5 to them for coding (Hopefully)
Good Luck!

SOURCE: Mercedes Benz 2002 C Class 180. Key fob batteries

You have to seperate the front of the fob casing by sliding or prising at the side this will then reveal the batteries. You can get replacement batteries from most garages or your MB dealer (who will probably fit them as well)

SOURCE: c240 mercedes key wont turn seems locked

I have a 2001 C240 with the same issue. I removed the positive battery cable from the battery and kept it off for 30 seconds then replaced it. Everything was reset and the key worked.

How do I drive my car if the remote alarm/keyless entry keychain fob no longer turns off the alarm?

The dealer usually has a contractor that deals with remote entry systems on scheduled days. Most places like carmax do too for about $75-100. Try carmax first. I'll bet you'll save money.

1995 Mercedes C220 alarm issue.

It's normal for the alarm to go off if it was set with the key fob and then unlocked with the metal key. The manual should explain this.

My 2005 corvettes battery was drained after sitting for too long. I recharged the battery but when I tried to restart the FOB were not being detected and the horns and lights go off like someone is trying...

The car's security/keyless entry system needs to be reset, and it's not recognizing the keyless entry FOB.

Check this LINK for how to re-program the FOB, which should allow you to turn off the alarm.

I don't know how to reset the alarm without the FOB, but it should be in the Owner's Manual.

I have a mercedes A class and the alarm keeps going off even when i am driving it

it's a simple problem because the alarm set button on the fob is where you grip to start the car. start the car, arm the alarm! just hold the front and back of fob not sides when turning it.
