    Hi,
I wonder why, but i have some simple question for you,
Does it turn off when its not used - that is caused by the power options in you OS..
Does it turn off even when you are using the computer - that means that it have an built time chip for automatic shut down probably like time to sleep etc.
And lastly when it goes off, how long does it take to come back on automatically or manually.
Others if none above then is a faulty one and i suggest that you take it back to the vendor or a check or replacement.

    Cheers

Hello,

The problem is the power supply is going out. Because of heat buildup in the enclosed boards on the monitor parts called capacitors blow out and cause the power supply to act strange. You can go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm and see what to look for. If you want to do the repair yourself then open the monitor and look for parts that look like the pictures on our site. Replace nay that like the same and you should be back going. The values are marked on each part, just replace with the same values, they can be ordered online either from us or several other distributors. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do have a repair service, most monitors are $35 plus return shipping. Let me know if you have any other questions about this repair.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

There is a reason! If an image turns off like that, but LED at front stays on, then most likely you need to replace MOSFETs in the inverter. Open the monitor and take metal lid off, take inverter board off the chassis and flip it over, there will be two SO-8 chips approximately under the inverter transformers. Try to connect that board back but keep it flipped, turn on the monitor and touch those chips with finger. If they're coming very hot - this is it. You see, when MOSFET has leakage in opened state, that will cause it's overheating and increase resistance of the junction, then the PWM chip will shut off - it is done for protection. I would replace them with IRF7389, find them with www.findchips.com. Those works just great!

That is most likely caused by the power saving setting in your operating system (windows).

What version of windows do you have?

Recently our laptop (4yo) shut down unexpectedly after being used for 45min to 1 hour! I was wondering what the issue is? Is there anything which can be done by us? We are out of warranty.

things that happen to older laptops are that over time there tiny processor power supplies build up with lint from the air that is passed thru them sometimes even making the tiny cooling fans in there stop , then its only a matter of a few minutes and it overheats and shuts off , after several hours cool own it will restart , but wont stay on long , then the cycle repeats . if its caught in time and no power supply parts are ruined sometimes a Pc repair shop can dismantle one and clean it

I have a pair of Behringer B2031A Active Studio Monitor. All is functioning perfectly and automatic power is set to off. . After 5 minutes on, one monitor shut off unexpectly, which is not to be suppose...

This sounds like an internal failure, probably something overheating since it takes time to recover. Behringer OFTEN puts thermistors to sense temp on heatsinks that shut down in the event of overtemp.

If you are not electronically adept, best to take this in for repair. If you are able to work on electronics, try using circuit cooler to isolate the failure. First a good visual inspection followed by the finger test searching for hot components... Do use care where high voltages are involved, mainly in power supplies and input power leads, etc..

The labor rate in the midwest where I live is $50 just to look at it. Unless you have electronic experience and test equiptment, I do not believe you wil be ableo to service it yourself.Usually cheeper just to buy another replacement one.
