There is a small button or release tab towards the back, push it, and the cover will come of the top of the mouse, then you can get the battery right out.

Hi,
If only you gave us the type of mouse that is, so that we know where to find screws or how to get access to the mouse of yours, but usually if its a screw mouse, it should have a screw underneath maybe hidden under a sticker or warantee sticker. Or for some other ones, u will have entry on top and you have to pull off the arm rest cover.
I would be easy if you told us which Logitech and is the model..

Cheers

Mouse and keyboard quit

i assume this is a wireless device, i had a similar problem when the reciever was too close to tv/monitor/wifi router the interference tended to mess things up or make it appear dead. if its IR (infared) make sure nothing is blocking the reciever. if all else fails i bought another set for like 20bucks @ any box store. could also try reinstalling driver if it came with a cd/disk

The red light on the bottom of my verbatim mouse is blinking and appears to not work intermittantly. This is the rechargable mouse.

The battery could be getting lower (even though its a rechargeable mouse). it could be going dead. how long have you had it?

How to turn keyboard and mouse on

make sure there is new batteries in both the mouse and keyboard. Also the wireless receiever that connects to the computer is responding as well.

After you get new batteries put in and also have the receiever plugged in. press the caps lock, num lock keys and see if they light up on the receiver. If they light up then things are working, if they don't then bring up the notepad and see if any of the keys show up in notepad when you type and also see if the cursor on the screen moves for your mouse.

Hopefully both of them will work once you change batteries. If both don't work after changing batteries then you'll need to get a new wireless keyboard/mouse kit.

Must turn off after each use because of batteries?

No, that is not true. The batteries will last a long time in the keyboard and mouse. I use rechargeable batteries in mine and don't have to change them out for 6 months or so. If you installed the Logitech software for the mouse and keyboard, you should get a notification in your task bar (near the clock) that will tell you when the batteries are getting low. Hope this helps.

Mouse completely dead

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done when ever you change batteries or glitch. Hope this helps you. Bud

On the bottom of the mouse is a small door. that is where there should be 2 AA batteries. Replace them being careful to install them with the battery + & - in the right place.
Then follow these instructions.
Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.

Batteries replacement

The piece of plastic where your palm would rest on the mouse is the compartment for the batteries. The piece of plastic has the GE logo on it. You need to slide the piece of plastic away from the direction of the mouse buttons. You will then be able to put the batteries inside and slip the piece of plastic back on.
