unplug the printer from the computer usb port.

you can download the software for it from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=vn&product=3177562&lang=en& just click on the long link.

Select if you have Vista or XP (take the Xp or vista, or older, not the x64 verions)

download the full feature software and driver. which will include everything the cd would.

install the software and plug in the printer when it asks you.

1. If you don't have disk then you have to keep its software of driver in your system.
2. If you have no driver or software in your computer then you should download it at www.hp.com .
3. Go to www.hp.com then click on support & downloads and then click on "Download drivers and software (and firmware)". Write your product name in given search bar.
4. Choose your operating system and then download its driver free for life.
5. Now start its setup without attach printer and then attach printer during installation if software required otherwise attach it later after its complete installation.
6. Now everything will install suceessful and work properly.

Good Luck

Download the files from HP site into a folder and run the install from that folder. Or copy cd onto a thumb drive from another computer and run from the thumb drive.
