Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Dear Experts, The print jobs on my Canon Pixma MP 520 keep stopping automatically, the jobs stop without any reason. I have checked the queue to see if the printer was set on 'stop all jobs', corrected it and put it on 'start all jobs' but it keeps switching back to 'stop' by itself automatically. What is happening? Thank you, Andia

Hello Andia,

Disconnect your printer's usb cable to the computer.

From the control panel >> Printers and Fax, look for your printer and open it by double clicking. If there are any pending jobs, delete them. After that, shutdown the computer for like 10 minutes. THen restart the computer, plug in printer back and try printing again.

If this still does not fix the problem, try reinstalling the printer's driver.

Should you have any questions and comments, please feel free to ask. Goodluck!

My pixma MX450 has stopped printing. I have tried cancelling jobs in queue but it still says there is one job remaining

Do you have more than one user on the system? If yes then maybe they have something in their queue.

My canon ip6700d cannot correctly detect the ink level in one of the cartridges. How can I fix that problem?

Hold down the (red) Stop/Reset button until the message disappears from the printer display.
Then clear all jobs from the print queue (select and cancel each job). Then resubmit a print job.

you'll have to clean the printer head. It's possible that your driver can do it automatically. It happens after a long time whitout using the printer. The ink can become dry and solid.

Printer document in queue will not delete

1. First, try turning printer off and on.

2. Next, on the computer side, this is how you manually clear the printer queue.

1. Go to Start, Control Panel and Administrative Tools. Double click on Services icon.
2. Scroll down to the Print Spooler service and right click on itand select Stop. In order to do this, you need to be logged in asAdministrator. At this point, no one will be able to print anything onany of the printers that are being hosted on this server.
3. Next you need to go to the following directory: C:WINDOWSSystem32spoolPRINTERS.Delete all the files in this folder. This will clear all print queues(it’s a good idea to first make sure there are no other print jobsbeing processed on any of the other printers on the server becausedoing this step will delete those jobs also)
4. Now you can go back to the Services console and right-click and choose Start for the Print Spooler service!
You can also go to a command prompt and type net stop spooler or net start spooler to start and stop the service.

I hope this helps. If you have more questions, let me know.
