SOURCE: error msg appear set belt

The error can either be caused by the OPC/OPC Marker assembly or the Main Motor assembly. Please follow the recommended troubleshooting steps:

    1. Power the printer off, remove and reseat the OPC unit, and power the machine back on. Print a test page. If error continues, proceed to step 2.
    2. Power the printer off and remove the OPC unit. Check the OPC Marker Sensor. If it is unsnapped or unplugged, reseat or replug it, and power the printer back on. Print a test page. If error continues, proceed to step 3.
    3. Remove the OPC unit and check it for scratches or defects. Also check the the markers on the OPC to make sure they are not damaged. Is the belt scratched or damaged? If the OPC is at or near the end of its life, OPC unit must be replaced. If the belt is in good condition, contact Lexmark technical support (if printer is under warranty) or your local authorized service provider for assistance.

Hello there! When I print, all documents have a grey streak across it. its very slight but it also looks bad to customers so Im wondering if someone can help me Thank you in advance

Either the toner cartridges, the fuser, or the photodeveloper cartridge are defective, or toner has accumulated in front of the printhead or on the printhead lens.

Replace the color toner cartridge causing the

line. If you still have the problem, replace the fuser and the photodeveloper cartridge. Clean any spilled toner you see in the printer housing near the printhead using a soft, clean

lint-free cloth. Clean the printhead lens.

Clean the printhead lens when you see print quality problems :

    1 Turn the printer off.

2 Pull the front door release latch forward and gently lower the front door.

3 Remove all of the toner cartridges one at a time.

    4 Open the top door.

    5 Remove the photodeveloper cartridge.

6 Pull on the tabs to lift the lens cover.

7 Gently wipe the printhead lens in one direction using a clean, dry lint-free cloth.

8 Push the lens cover down.

9 Align the photodeveloper cartridge with its opening. Gently lower it into place.

10 Push the latches away from each other to lock the photodeveloper cartridge into place.

    11 Close the top door.

12 Install all of the toner cartridges.

    13 Close the front door.
    14 Turn the printer on.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

    Thanks, Joe

My Lexmark c510 only prints a black page.

    Hi,
The black solid page could be due to a loose charge roller on the Photodeveloper. Here is an article that has pretty good instructions on how to verify and properly set the charge roller.

C510 printer displays "994 Service Engine Error". How do you address this?

From a previous post: Posted by waynechurch on Apr 24, 2009 Is this error on a C510?, because the manual lists 994 as OPC belt marker sensor error.

Normally with an engine service error i reflash the engine firmware first, if that doesn't cure the fault i would then replace the engine board. If you need the firmware, visit the Lexmark site get the contact phone number for your region and ring them. They're normally quite helpful and of coarse can tell you how to reflash it.

C510 printer displays "994 Service Engine Error". How do you addr

Here you go, courtsey of Lexmark's Knowlwdgebase.

    Don

    *************************************************

994 Service Engine Error on a Lexmark C510 ID: ENUS21233 If your printer is unable to move the photodeveloper belt to the correct position during printing, a 994 error will occur. However, it may simply be the case that the photodeveloper is either contaminated with excess toner or improperly installed. To test for and resolve this issue, please do the following:

    1. Power the printer off and remove the photodeveloper cartridge.
    2. Rotate the green metallic photodeveloper belt by manually turning the white drive gear on the bottom of the cartridge until the black positioning markers are visible.
    3. If necessary, carefully wipe any excess toner powder from the positioning markers using a soft, lint-free cloth or tissue.
    4. While the top cover of the printer is still open, inspect the sensor that is used to locate the positioning markers on the belt. CAUTION! The photodeveloper is very sensitive to light. Cover the green metallic surface of the photodeveloper with a piece of paper while it is outside the printer.
      • Refer to this image, this image, and this image to identify the location of the sensor.
      • Verify that the sensor has not come loose from its housing and that it is not contaminated with excess toner powder. If necessary, clean the sensor with a soft, lint-free cloth or tissue.
    5. Re-install the photodeveloper cartridge and power the printer back on.
    6. If the error remains, it is likely that a service call will be necessary to resolve this issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support, having first obtained the serial number of your printer. NOTE: If practicable, attempt to order another photodeveloper and replace it first to avoid the inconvenience of a potentially unnecessary service call.
