1. Normal Configuration (setting)
Most of us know how to set the Show Hidden Files from the Windows Explorer but if in case this tweak doesn't work we need to do something more important in the Registry or using Command Prompt. For beginners i also include how to set the Show Hidden Files in the Windows Explorer.
Step 1. Open Windows Explorer (eg. My Computer) and click on the Tools Menu as shown in below.

Why when I login to my gmail it show security and nonsecurtiy?

i presume you are talking about secure and non secure internet content which comes up as warning when you browse internet. this is actually feature of microsoft that is integrated in to internet explorer 7 and 8 but mostly shows in 8. it does not really mean anything. you can open same page on firefox and it will probably wont show any warning. Only way to get rid of it is to go back to older internet explorer like 6 or follow this page http://blog.httpwatch.com/2009/04/23/fixing-the-ie-8-warning-do-you-want-to-view-only-the-webpage-content-that-was-delivered-securely/.

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

    cus.jpg

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

I am trying to get the warning screen to the right of the folder tree to show up when I highlite windows or program folder that says these files are hidden, this folder contains files that keep your system...

This is a preset for windows that keeps system files hidden from people who might mistake them as something unneeded.

It can be reset by going to TOOLS in the menu bar of your explorer windows and select Folder Options,View, then Click the button for "Show hidden files and folders".

good luck

I cannot get offline when I install Internet explorer 8, it always says not responding. So I have to go to my windows task manager and keep clicking on the not responding so I can get offline. Or turn off...

If you are using the beta version, this is a normal scenario. If you are using IE 8 latest check whether you have downloaded the proper version which suites your windows platform. Go to add remove programs-> windows components and select internet explorer to remove it. Then re-install the new one. Make sure you patch it usually.

Explorer problem

Hi

I suggest to restore the settings of your internet explorer to defaults. There could be bugs during your windows update.

1. Open internet explorer, go to tool --> Internet Options ---> Advanced tab ---> Reset.

Reset all the settings then restart your computer. In case you cannot open internet explorer because it will just give you a white blank page. try the following steps below.

1.1a Click Start -- type msconfig on start search box (for vista only). Click Run (for xp only). a pop up box window will show up (System utility configuration). Look for the tab Services.

Under services tab, put a check on the box that says "Hide all microsoft services" at the very bottom screen. Click apply then close. Restart the computer.

After restarting the computer follow step 1.

Keep me posted

Regards
