When your computer is first started, press and hold the F2 key. When the screen comes up, use the right arrow to get to the Security partion. This is where you find information about (and deleting) passwords.
Once all is as needed here, press the F10 key, to save your changes. If this does not help then I'd go back where you got it and request refund.

I presume this is right from the beginning before anything loads?

Well heres how to get rid of it.
Open the door on the back of the laptop that holds the ram. Gently remove the ram
look for two metal bars near or between the RAM
take a paper clip and short these out

Replace the RAM and ensure well seated in the sockets, close the door and restart and away you should go

Cheers

removing the battery will not fix it. The pins need to be shorted out to remove the BIOS password This is what Toshiba charge $90 for, so do it yourself All Toshiba satellites have these pins right where I told you initially. If he solution providedyou have not attempted to do that and solve the first part of the problem you will get no where. Once the PW is removed SET the boot sequesnce to a CD that has a new copy of Windows on it and go through the Installation process. It seems several people have offered solutions since I first answered your question, but nowhere do I see any feedback on the solution provided.

The best option for you is to take the laptop to a toshiba service center to get the password removed.

You may attempt to remove the bios battery from the laptop and see if it removes the bios password.

The battery is shown on the above picture as RTC battery, removing the battery for a while may or may not solve the problem.

If your problem remains I would recommend you take the laptop to a toshiba service center where they will remove the password for you.

If you are going to sort pins inside the laptop, make sure the power adapter and battery are removed.

for toshiba laptops look for pins marked as J1 or J7 they will be next to each other and it will be quite small if there is any, all models dont have this.

It may be due to a virus. To boot from CD, First check the booting order in BIOS. It should be on top for your optical drive. you also press F8 when booting to get advance option as Safe mode. Choose safe mode with command prompt then type without Quito:
"net user administrator 123123" press enter.
a new user account will be created with password 123123.
you can delete your password using 'BackTrack 4' software. It will delete your password. download its CD image and make its CD, then boot it from booting. It is an open-source software. Make sure that the booting order should be set for your optical drive. you also can boot with your windows CD.

My toshiba satellite A55 won't turn on

Hi. Try this simple steps:

Remove the battery and ac adapter. Press and hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Plug the ac adapter in and leave the battery aside. If the system still doesn't turn on, try to reseat your memory modules. If still nothing happens, you have to replace the motherboard.

Hope it helps!

My pc [toshiba satellite a55- s106] sound just went off but when i put headphone i can hear sound. pliz help to restore my pc sound back.

On my Satellite I would constantly readjust my sound simply but picking it up and moving it as the control disk was on the side. Just checking to be sure you did not inadvertently knock the switch to the mute position? Though I am sure you checked that already - posting just in case.
