Question about Computers & Internet
It happens when the hardware or software is corrupt. In your case the hardware is new so, unless it has been damaged by a fall, the hardware cannot be an issue.
It can also be due to the installation of an unsupported program or driver.
Viruses can be a cause also.
Start your system and after the BIOS screen disappears repeatedly press F8 button on top row of the keyboard. If you pressed F8 before the Windows load then you will be taken to a screen where it asks you the options to start Windows normally and in safe mode and some other options.
Try starting Windows by choosing "Last known good configuration" option.
If it fails then restart and press F8 to go to this screen again. Now choose the "Safe Mode", now if it starts successfully then you can find and remove any conflicting software, run a virus scan or better backup your data.
If your system crashes often then it is better that you backup your data and reformat drive to reinstall Windows.
In case your system does not start then you will have to send it for data backup. Take it back to where you purchased it. You mentioned that it is 2 months old. It should be covered in warranty.
WARNING: DO NOT try to dismantle it. It will surely void the warranty.
Thank you for using fixya!

If only two months old, you are probably using Vista. On the toshiba, you can hold down the power button for a few seconds and it will turn off the unit. If that doesn't work there is a small hole near the power input that is a reset button. You need to use something like a paper clip to push into the hole to reset. After a few seconds try turning the thing back on. If you cannot get it to come back on, then you need to take it back to the seller to get benefit from the warranty. Sometimes windows xp and or Vista, just get hung up, and the only way to get it back to normal is the process shown above. Good luck.
