Hi,

If your dryer not heating up there may be several possibilities
Check these:
1) Make sure the dryer is plugged in, all the circuit breakers are in correct position and make sure no fuses in the fuse panel are blown.
2) A defective heating element.
Before you check the heating element disconnect the power source to your dryer
The heating element checked by setting your multimeter to the R x 1 resistance scale. Touch each meter probe and to one end of the element. If you receive a reading of infinite resistance, then your heating element is no longer functioning properly and you will have to replace it.
3) Check the dryers thermal fuse is blown. For checking this disconnect the power source .Then the wires leading to the thermal fuse are connected using metal slip on connectors. Remove the wires by pulling on the connectors, and not the wires themselves. It may be a good idea to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to help you.
Set your multimeter to the R X 1 setting. Take each of your meter's probes and touch one to each terminal. You are testing for continuity, and you should receive a reading of either zero or infinity. At room temperature, testing the thermal fuse should produce a reading of zero. But if a thermostat is tested when it is heated to its limit, a reading of infinity should be produced.
4) If any of your dryer's thermostats have become defective, they could be the reason that your dryer is not heating. Open up your dryer's cabinet and test each of your dryer's thermostats.
5) A defective timer motor could also cause your dryer to not heat up. Test your dryer's timer motor.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Smith.

You might have excessive lint build up in the air flow inlet. Then excessive heat trips the thermostat limit switch. The thermostat limit switch could be defective too.

Our dryer doesn't dry clothes like it should, sometimes takes a long long time and other times quick and the clothes feel really hot, model # is DLE 2532W

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Power from the house

Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating Element

Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it. The proper ohm reading can be found in the service manual or sometimes on the tech sheet located somewhere on your dryer (9- 13 ohms is a common reading). Electric heating elements aren't repairable. The heating element is easy to replace. Check our videos for other types of dryer heating elements.

Thermal fuse / Thermal Cut Out / Thermistor

On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel or behind the front cover. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing They are also round and made of metal and plastic. The thermistor is located on the blower housing usually. If any of the fuses do not have continuity replace it. Check for continuity if none replace, But before replacing check for obstructions. The fuses are very inexpensive and easy to replace.

Wiring

A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. Check all connections, make sure they are tight. Loose connections can lead to a fire. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

Where is the heating element on a amana dle dryer

Depends on the model. Usually on the back lower left side under tub or right behind the tub in the top center. The frist location you remove the front panel to get to element and the second location the lid has to be raised up

There's only a couple of things that will cause the problem you just described. A broken dryer belt, or a defective drive motor. However, most drive motors are equipped with a centrifugal switch that closes when the motor turns. Without this switch closed, the heating circuits would not energize. So...I would recommend you check to see if your dryer belt has broken. If you can post back with comments on BRAND name and MODEL number (located along the inside of the door opening somewhere, or on the back of the console) I can give you advice on how to repair this yourself. Let me know. I hope this helps you.
