Strongly suggest you go to Ebay and purchase a used on woth working screens in the end easier and cheeper. Plus you can hold yuor old phone for parts/back up.
Or sell as working wioth bronken front screen to help pay for the new phone.
Unfortunatly store reps have mostly only one thing in mind and that is to sell, sell, sell. Itunes uses a protect format called aac. which is unable to be played unless it is converted, the samsung alias (aka u740) does play MP3 format. My suggestion to you would be to use a program called Daniusoft Media Converter, to convert the music you have to mp3 and then transfer them to your phone via memory card or Verizons Music Essentials kit.
James121 is not correct. In this case, with the Samsun sch-u740, the screws are simple small philips screws. Its also pretty tough to get the cover off. you also have to deal with alot of wires to replace the lcd, including soldering the speaker back to the lcd. this is not recommended for 99% of people.
when you plug in the phone to the computer, go into menu- tools - mass storage- connect to computer and just look for the removable disk storage on " my computer" transfer all your music files to the media folder. hope this helps if you haven't gotten it to work
