Question about Kitchen Ranges
I have a Maytag MGR6772BDW. All 4 of my igniters spark. 3 spark up to the metal plate on top, one sparks down to the burner and fails to light the burner. I have cleaned the burner, sanded the contact points on top of the burner with no change. I even tried sanding the bottom of the metal disk to see if it needed a better contact. Is the igniter too low and can it be adjusted? Why would the spark jump down to the burner base rather than jumping up to the top disk?
Clean out the hole that lets gas to the spark area. You can bend the ignitor probe closer or farther away so that it goes to the path of least resistance. It should lite unless the gas is not getting to the spark area.
