Maytag ensignia dryer MDE7657BYQ. Are the flaps

Maytag ensignia dryer MDE7657BYQ. Are the flaps inside the drum called baffles? One of the three is loose, moves around and clangs when it is running. Can this be tightened up if I can get the top up? If so, how do I get the top up? Thanks for any assistance...

Yes it can be tightened, you would have to take off the door, there should be 2 screws on left and 2 on right, then you would have to take off the dark brown like bolt on the left and right, there is a long L shape clip that holds top to front. Once you lift top tightened the bolt or add a bolt to the baffles..

2 dryer bars

The bars are called BAFFLES P/N: 12002559
They are attached by 4 screws through the drum. You must pop the top to reinstall the baffles. Take one of the baffles to the hardware store and buy some good fitting screws. Then pop the top 660ff1d.jpgand use a screwdriver to reattach them. Fairly easy to fix. IF you have the old ones. Do dry tennis shoes in there. Oopz LOL

I know that I am asking this for the third time; however, on the other two I forgot to notate the make and model. Again, after I opened the top of the dryer, there were no coins, it seems to be the screws...

If the screws holding the baffles just came out of the baffles or if the baffle broke they can be reinstalled. If the screws have ripped though the drum, the drum will need to be replaced. The screw part number is 33002973. The short baffle part number is 33001755. The tall baffle part number is 33002032. If you need the complete drum it is part number 33001889. Below are the instructions on how to replace the drum. Parts can be ordered from this link.

below is a link to the service manual for the info u need to take aprt or replace the dryer drum on a Maytag Neptune, I suggest u print it and then enlarge it if u can read it.,swdbrqkqdgssrtkxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/stkwfgbrgxkgtddqfqs/1/1303472/5961857/image7951020310251998097img-or.gif

Inside the drum there are three paddles and one has worked it's way lose. What is the name of this part and is it something that will snap in place easily, or must I get professional help installing?

it is called a baffle. two screws hold each in place, and is is common for them to gradually loosen. it is also easy to tighten them back. open the door, there are 4 screws on each side inside door frame, remove them. then pull the front panel from the sides towad you, the pannel will come foward then lift up and set panel aside. there is 1 screw on each side holding the top down, remove them then top hinges up. you will be able to see the drum and as you turn it you can tighten the screws to all 3 baffles, then re-assemble. good luck. shane
