Windows could not stat because the following file is missing or corrupt......System32DriversNtfs.sys
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD ROM.
Select ' r ' at the first screen to start repair
If you have Vista, reboot the laptop with the vista disc in the drive. When the computer starts and you see the Acer splash screen you may have to hit F12 to get to the one time boot option and choose the cd/dvd drive...this will force the laptop to boot off the disc and not the hard drive. When the disc loads you will see a message that says "To boot off cd hit any key" touch a key and let windows boot. Once it boots it will ask you what you want to do. you first click on the next tab when it shows you the language screen, then you want to choose repair and it will tie in to the current Windows installation. When it does, click ok or next and windows will try to "heal" itself so it will boot up correctly. Once it finishes its repair, it will give you more choices. Choose to exit out and reboot the machine without the disc in and see if you boot correctly. If you do not repeat the process as before but when you are given a drop down menu of choices, this time pick restore. Look for a restore point that was before you downloaded and installed SpyBot....choose that restore point and let it do its thing....if you are successful....stay away from SpyBot.....iy is nothing but trouble.
