I own a Hitachi cpx443 multi lcd projector. It recently has been showing blue dots in a U shape over most of the screen after the bulb was recently changed. We cleaned the lenses cand the blue dots remained. Do you know what the problem is? or what i could do to fix it?

Calmly explain that you know the white dot problem is rampant, that you know that these failures are being handled out-of-warranty, and that you'd like to have your unit handled similarly. (For the record--never, never get irate with a phone CSR. You get much more with sugar than you do with salt.)

A little research will show you that Texas Instruments is the primary manufacturer of the DMDs. They license other companies to sell their devices in their rebranded units. So any white dot problem can be handled the same way with any other company. Be patient, but be firm. Never be afraid to calmly ask to speak to a supervisor when you don't receive the answer you're expecting.

How defined are the dots? Is each blue dot limited to the size of a pixel? I suggest you create a 3 slide image in powerpoint ..one slide completely blue, 1 red and one green. then project each image in turn and note what happens with the blue dot. My first thoughts are you have some pixels that are locked. Once that happens if are pretty much stuck with them. Optical it is impossible for a dust on the lens etc to cause them as if the picture is in focus at the screen the dust is way out of the depth of the field, sometimes you can focus the projector so that the point of focus is the lens surface but then the actual content will be way out of focus...none of which has anything to do with your blue dots. How do I fix a blue halo around the picture on my Hitachi CP-SX1350 projector?

Have you tried cleaning the lens on the projector? Dirty optics can cause problems with proper light refraction. Hope this helps.

Small blue dots all over the picture screen

In your tv the image is generated by 3 small LCD screens. In your case the blue LCD is dying - some pixels from it are no longer responding to the commands of the image processor.
To fix it you must replace the blue LCD screen. This is a very delicate job that requires extensive experience - you will have to call a repairman - and it will be expensive, around $600.

I have blue dots on the screen. I cleaned the glass on the projection bulb and the prizm but still have blue dots.

Your tv is an LCD projection one - in which the image is generated by 3 small LCD screens. The blue dots are pixels from the blue LCD that are dead - always fully open. The only fix is to replace the LCD panel and that is going to cost you around $300.

Blue dots on screen. what is it and can it be fixed? a new bulb was recently installed.

Yes,it is repairable.Blue dots on screen is sign of LCD failure at optical block assembly. There are three LCD on the optical assembly RED,GREEN and BLUE. Blue LCD failure causes blue dots on screen. Repair should be done by replacing blue LCD. Note! LCD replacement needs Extra care and precise tools such as oscilloscope and color pattern generator , for the color alignment after replacing LCD. But if you can afford, replacing the optical block is better,

Large dot in the middle of the projected display

there is a burned-in spot on the polerizer light filter for the blue lcd. it makes sure the light is blue coming through, that's why it is black on a blue screen, and yellow when the red and green are the only light showing through. it needs to be replaced. pat # PFiLW0213CEZZ.

This is probably the polarizing filter. It will need to be replaced. It should not cost very much to fix.
