My ps3 will not stay on, i push the button to turn it on and it turns on but then immediately turns itself back off and the red light flashes

the same thing happened to me. all you do is press the eject button until it turns yellow. when that happens, immediately unplug the ac cord, & plug it back in. repeat this process until the light stays green! trust me, it works. it saves alot of money too if your warranty has ran out

Follow the procedure below to fix the problem on your ps3,

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

The current Recovery Menu supports:

• Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.

this happens when the ps3 has overheated-try removing the hard drive and replacing then give the console a hoover out.....if this doesnt work try holding the power button on for 5 sec....if this doesnt work its back to sony im affraid

Your system has overheated. If it doesn't get on at all anymore, you should get it fixed in the place you bought it from. That happened to me.

Your system is getting hot......Clean the dust from the unit with a vacume...not a can of air, Canned air will only push the dirt further into the unit. also you can buy an intercooler for the ps3 nyco makes one that actually forms to the ps3

it sounds like the power supply is going out. I would recommend calling sony.

it is fried and needs repairs if you break the seal by trying it yourself you void the warrany
