Dryer isn't drying

My dryer was making a noise (like when a car belt needs to be oiled) a consistent squeaking noise. Now the noise is gone but the closes won't dry. I ran the dryer and took the hose of the back. Im getting hot air blowing out so i'm guessing a "type of blower motor" needs to be replaced? that would explain why I have heat but not heat inside the dryer cylinder.

I too have this problem with the same model. Call the 800 on the manuel they told me its very common for the heater to go out in this model. They said they would pay for it if I used the recommended repairman but they lied he said we have to pay him.
We got duped by buying this dryer...Lowe's wont even sell this brand anymore.

If there is no heat. the heating element most likely is faulty. You can test the power to it with voltmeter to see if it is getting power.

Dryer makes a high pitch squeaking noise

This could be a dry support bearing, a dried out drum seal or something stuck in the drum seal. If I could hear it I would know better where to start. Listen and try to locate the source from the above list. It could be the belt but that is not as common.

When we turn on our Whirlpool Supreme electric dryer, it heats up and dries clothes, but it is making a loud squeaking noise throughout the cycle...sometimes louder than others.

The squeaking noise can be caused by any of the following.

Location High:

Belt slipping on the dryer drum

Worn Drum seals but would sound more like a dragging noise

Location Low:

Belt tensioner pulley bearing frozen and the idler pulley shaft is spinning inside the belt tensioner assy.

Belt slipping on the motor bearing

Motor bearing is dry

Have a frigidire FER34IACO and has a squeak when running, belt is fine. Think it is the tension roller, but not sure.

All dryers have to have a way of allowing the tumbler (that's the thing you put the clothes in) to turn freely, not all of them are the same tho, some use bearings, some use slides, others use rollers. Over time these rollers will need to be oiled, the slides will get thin and start metal to metal contact causing a noise, The rear bearings will then start to make their way to china and cause the tumbler to rub into the heating element and OUCH! These things will cause the motor to prematurely DIE! Its best to examine the dryers, rollers, and slides when you first hear the noise, but who does?

The dryer works well but squeaks the whole time it is drying

Get after it, while the issue is small...

So, squeaks, as compared to scraping sound....You did not mention the brand, and my telepathy is malfunctioning, so dryers have several types of bearings.

UNPLUG before you do anything, there is live power all over ...

I suggest that you release the belt and spin the drum... Still noise, disassemble until you find a dry bearing... Many dryers use oil empregnated brass bushings, they dry up and will seize.

Put dryer belt back on, correctly

It sounds like you are having a problem with the tensioner for the dryer belt - when this device starts to fail, it can sometimes be lubricated with oil and last a little while longer, but will usually need to be replaced. The squealing you hear is a dry bearing for the tensioner pulley. While you're in there, also look aroud and listen if you hear any strange noises coming from the other spots. There could also be issues with the dryer support rollers or support guides.

I am asuming the belt is ok and the drive motor is working properly.
