This service is hard to explain. Try googling it so you watch a video of how it is done. You can purchase belts and rebuild the clutch with the new belts or you can purchase a new clutch with belts already installed
Hi, it sounds that you may have a fault in your cable sometimes the wire inside the cable gets broken and only connects now and again when in the right position. I remember reading some where about this person had a dyson and had to get the wire changed for a second time as this was the fault. They put it into a dyson repairer to get the job done as you have to remove the motor. I no that's what you need to do on a dc07 animal. If its not the cable then it could be the temp cut out switch my first motor would go for so long hoovering then just stop and you would have to wait till it had cooled down then it would go for another short time. I had to get a new motor that time but it was covered by dyson . When the dyson man arrived i told him it was cutting out and he just fitted a new motor. I have since just replaced that motor myself rather than buy a new dyson. Always remember to remove the plug from the socket when doing repairs to your hoover.
Sounds like the clutch is slipping this happens more if the cleaner is upturned to look.......Could be one of the belt is worn although i note what you say regarding its age.....Could well be a newish design to do exactly that...Check with Dyson
Bad news regarding all Dyson's. You can't replace just the belt your self. You have to purchase a new belt assembly which includes the gears. And it wont be cheap. I would call it a design flaw but i am sure that dyson calls it a profit scheme.
I have been repairing Dyson machines since they first came out.
DO NOT PAY FOR A NEW CLUTCH.
I can assure you that both clutch belts can be replaced.
Its A tricky job & can take some time to do.
Its more cost effective for a shop to fit a new clutch at your expense $150
Clutch Belts are readily available in the UK you can purchase belts from numerouse sites for approx $10 postage to states $3 to $5 saving you a small fortune.
