Must be a Mitsubishi, call Mitsubishi they have a recall on this problem they need to send a tech out to replace the thermal sensor in your set.

My 2001 malibu windows fog up all the time .Anyone know where to check for proper ventalation?

Make sure the ventilation is set to "fresh air", and not "recirculate" . There should be a button just below the heat control that shows the air flow. One has an arrow going straight in to the little car picture, and one shows the arrows in a circular motion. Set it to the straight one, the "fresh air". Fresh air is drier and your windows will dry quicker. There is always moisture in your car from snow and slush and rain and it takes forever to dry out.
The only other thing it could be is a cracked heater core, and if it was that you would smell antifreeze when ever theheater was on.

Computer shuts down on its own

Most likely when a computer shuts down on its own it is because the computer processor or power supply is either overheating or is under powered.
Feel with your hand around the computer case and back of the power supply (has circular fan usually/ on off switch/ and a plug goes into it)
If it is very hot you will have found your answer.
Did you just install or upgrade a processor? If so you may need to check to make sure that there is thermal compound (artic silver, etc) between the processor and heat sync. This can cause overheating and sudden shut downs. If not move on
Is your computer in a small enclosed area? Try moving it to an area with more area for ventallation and cooling.
Do you have adequate cooling/fans? are they working? if not check power cables and may need to replace the fans or install more. You can buy and install case fans pretty easily
DUST. Are the fans and imputs dirty? Keeping them clean will keep the computer running cooler and help lower temperature and avoid shut downs. If your fans/imputs are dirty remove dust by using a can of compressed air, a vacuum made specifically for pc/electronics. or you may wipe them down with rubbing alcohol and a dust free cloth.
This should help Anthony

Don't know...watching it and it just went dead!

My Samsung 62" LCD started shutting down after the first year. I learned that their are inferior resisters in may models which short out after time with normal use. Heat is comonly the reason for auto shut down. make sure your tv has plenty of ventalation and keep the vent holes or slots clear of dust or other obstructions.

My console keeps freezing

Please let me start off by saying that I'm sorry you're having issues with such a great system and I hope that I can easily resolve your problem.

The biggest reason I've seen that causes the system to freeze is an inconsistent internet connection. I play MW2 online quite a bit and for a while I had to reset my system every so often because it would freeze. The way I fixed it was I replaced my old router (antique) with a newer one and kept all the settings to default with the exception of the WPA key; that way if it did disconnect it was easily put back on the network. My first suggestion is to check your internet connection and router.

The second reason that a system could freeze would be that you are playing the game in a different way than what it is meant to be played. Take GTA4 for example. My system freezes if I attempt to put too many cheats in within a short period of time. Many people like to do hacks and stuff for Modern Warefare 2 (MW2) that alter their levels, weapons, titles, etc. If you have tried to alter your game in any way then yes, it will freeze, and you will need to start over and play it the correct way.

The last usual reason that your system could be freezing is that it's overheating. To avoid this, make sure it's:

1) Not on a carpet surface. Set it on something flat.

2) Well ventalated. Do not cover up the ventallation covers and allow it about 1 or 2 inches of clearance all around.

3) Taken care of. Make sure to dust it off and take some canned air to it on occasion.

Good luck. If i've helped you, please help me by giving me the appropriate rating. Please post a comment if you have any further questions regarding this topic. Thank you for trusting Fixya to resolve your problems.

Respectfully,

Don

My receiver keeps shutting off when the volume gets above like 40 in some movies and games, any ideas?

most of the time this is an over heating problem with the unit. Make sure that it has proper ventalation around it. It could also mean that the fan is shot on the unit . You could try using a can of compressed air in it to free up some of the dust that has accumalated inside of the unit. Hope this helps

Jenn-air ice maker, stand alone unit, will not shut off, keeps producting ice.

There should be a sensor inside the ice maker bin that tells the ice maker when its full. It may be a wire or an arm on top of the ice. If you accidentally knocked that off the ice maker won't know when the bin is full and just keeps making ice

Tele will not stay on

The tv has an error code thats its way of telling you there is something wrong so it shuts itself down to protect itself. I would have it looked at or call philips and they can tell you what that means. hope that helps.
