Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have an HP Laserjet 2840 All-in-One that is displaying "low memory, press (check mark) to continue". I have done this several times but the Word doc still does not print. The Word doc has a large amount of copy (pictures) on it. I was able to print the 1st 12 of 50 but since the "low memory" warning, I cannot get the doc to print. I have tried several suggestions thru 2 FixYa experts but still have not been successful in clearing enough memory to continue. Not SURE if this is problem for doc not printing. PLEASE ALSO TELL ME HOW TO CLEAR MEMORY, EVEN IF THIS IS NOT THE IMMEDIATE PROBLEM. SEEKING IMMEDIATE HELP! THANKS!

I have already tried many times today to print even one single page at a time. How do I go about adding more memory? I am a novice at the computer end of things so please bear with my ignorance. I believe I have to purchase more RAM, is that correct? Is there any way to clear the Laserjet's "memory bank"? Is the "Low Memory" truly what's affecting the printing? I can print all kinds of other docs, even some w/ pictures...altho, I haven't tried other docs w/ large amts of pictures. I will try that while waiting for a response and see if it's just this particular doc that's the problem. Could that be possible? If so, why? and how would I correct that?

You want print a large file? you will get this problem.
Solution:
1. divide your file to small printing jobs: example: 50 pages must be printed 4 times 12 pages.
2. Add memory.
3.If your problem continue contact HP support

To perform a cold reset
1 Turn the MFP off and then on.
2 When the memory count appears on the control-panel display, press and hold 6 until all three
LEDs flash once and then stay on. This might take up to 20 seconds.
3 Press 3 four times until COLD RESET appears on the control-panel display.

I have an HP Color LaserJet 2840 All-in-One. I have a Word document that has pictures on it that I was able to print 12 out of 50. Now the printer is giving me a prompt: "Low Memory; Press (check mark)...

The standard memory of this HP is 96 MB of RAM. You can add more system RAM for a maximum of 224 MB.

Sounds like the file you're trying to print is rather large, and sending 50 copies through simultaneously may well be eating up the available memory, if the unit is trying to act as a print spooler and process the entire job internally. You may want to try sending a job of 10 through and then waiting until that's processed before sending another batch through.

As an alternative, you could add the additional RAM (as above) and reduce these kinds of problems.

One thing to try is to turn the USB speed down from High Speed to Full Speed. Some of the All-in-One HP's have had problems with their USB speed matching and can cause errors in printing.

unfortunately, your printer uses all of the carts even for just black prints.

press the check mark key and scroll down to diagnostics.

select disable cartridge check

But then you won't know when you're out of a certain color.

Kiss off your money and get a commercial grade AIO

Hp laserjet 2840 all in one gives FUSER ERROR

For any fuser error, the first thing that should be done is replacing the fuser. If the error still shows up after wards, it could be the LVPS (Low voltage power supply) or a board.
