Question about Hitachi 60V710 60" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

We have a Hitachi 60V710 that is almost 5 years old. We have always noticed a bit of yellow haloing but recently our dog has jumped up onto the screen (unfortunately more than once) and now we have notice a large yellow sp0t in the middle of the screen with some areas of dark, though not dark enough to obscure the picture. Did the dog break something?

I do not think the Dog broke anything. I do think though the Optical Block assembly needs to be replaced to fix the problem. Do to the cost of repair, I would contact Hitachi to see if they could assist you in the cost and recommending a Service Facility near you to do the work.
I hope this helps,

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Some Hitachis have developed bad connections on the convergence output IC's (locations IK04 and IK05) You could try and resolder the IC's but if you are in it that far you are best to replace both. The generic part number is STK392-110
