    no ink after loose connection

  • blsouthern Sep 11, 2009

yes the second ink (replacement for the first) was fresh out of the package and fresh out of Office Depot. I have no way to determine if the contact points were damaged.

i can return the last ink purchased in to the store, but it was teh last one they had (and office max didn't have any at all) which means i have to buy yet ANOTHER ink online (at almost $50 per) to test it out.

    any other theories?

it appears to print...carriage moves back and forth and it sounds normal. No error message. but NOTHING appears on teh sheet, neither in copy mode or report printing.

You need to do a depp clean on this printer since its acting like its priting and there's no error at all so the printer is still working and hopefully this is not yet a printhead problem . because after doing a deep clean and still not printing this is already a printhead problem...

Does the carriage move side to side when you print? If it does, you have a bad cartridge. If it does not, did the display show any error messages? Does it fax out correctly?

Just in case you have not checked, please make sure the protective tape on the new cartridge print head section is removed.

Good luck and please let me know how it goes.

Are both ink fresh out of the sealed pack? They do dry up very fast if they are not sealed. Try removing the cartridge after it prints and see if there are any wet ink on the print head. You should see some wet ink if the cartridge works.

There is a slight chance that the ribbon cable connecting the print head housing to the controller has a bad connection. Do you see any thing lose or damaged?

Were the inks fresh out of the sealed package? The ink will dry inside of the head if the ink site unsealed for too long.

One more thing to check is the golden connector inside of the print head housing and make sure it is not damaged.

My fax machine states 'fax RX in memory' and does not receive any faxes?

There is a Fax in memory. Either, the machine has a paper jam, is out of paper, or needs the ink cartridge replaced. Fix the above and the fax will print and the machine should work in Fax mode again.

For a unit with paper and no paper jam, try adjusting the paper stack and check if the unit picks up the paper properly. If you have ink in the cartridge, try cleaning the print nozzles and contacts. If a nozzle cleaning from the unit doesn't work, do it manually. Use a damp cloth (lint-free) and wipe in one direction only. Dampen the cloth with bottled or distilled water for best results. See your manual for pictures.

If you need the manual, try the Sharp site or .

I hope this helps.

No ink cartridge, need to replace how do I order the cartridge

The cartridge for that printer is the Sharp UX-C70B. Go online to any big box store and search using the cartridge number. It should cost you around $37 for a new cartridge.

Sharp ux b700 will not print

it sounds like either you didn't peel off the plastic cover the ink cartridge or it is a defective cartridge.
