I want to uninstall webroot and start over. I'm unable to remove aei.exe and other files. How can I accomplish this?

You may need to reinstall it to fully uninstall it. The uninstall may not have worked.
Have you turned off your computer since uninstalling Webroot? (Fully turned off, not hibernation mode) That may get rid of the running file.
To finish the job after uninstalling, simply delete the directory from the C: drive. (You may have to turn off and restart the computer before it will allow you to delete the folder.) A lot of programs that download updates on a regular basis will leave the updates on your hard drive even after an uninstall.

Task manager is disabled by administrator

So your task mananger isn't working, this may be a Virus, or simply some programs error? Anyway, If you have Windows XP Pro, there's a nifty user interface to directly edit the setting you want to repair. Click Start, then click Run and type in gpedit.msc: And press OK. This runs the Group Policy Editor. Once in the Group Policy Editor, expand in turn: User Configuration Administrative Templates System Ctrl+Alt+Del Options You should see the Group Policy Window, Double click on Remove Task Manager to change its setting: It should be enough to click on Not Configured and then OK and Task Manager is available once again. If you don't have Windows XP Pro, then you'll need to edit the registry manually. Click Start, then click Run, type in regedit, and click on OK. Expand these registry keys in turn:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Policies \System You should see the key DisableTaskMgr in the right hand pane. Right Click on the DisableTaskMgr item: Click on Delete, confirm that you want to delete, and Task Manager should be available once again. One thing to note is that it's quite possible that if you're in an environment managed by a centralized policy, these settings may have no effect. Your IT administrator may set things up so as to disable Task Manager, and other things as well at the domain level. You'll need to ask them if this is the case.

I have the htc hero and i have downloaded the atk app but do not know how to use it

It is now generally well known in the Android community that task killers do not provide any advantages over the built-in task managing of the phone. A lot of people will start killer tasks that are vital to the phone's operation and may cause other parts to force close. So in my honest opinion, you don't need it.

But if you want to play with it, here are some pointers.

First off, if you downloaded the .apk file, you will need to copy it to your SD card. Go to the Market, and install the app AppInstaller. This will search you SD card for .apk files and give you the prompted to install onto your phone.

When you run the task killer, you will be presented with a list of running tasks (just like in Windows Task Manager). You can kill any task that is running, but like I said previously, killing something vital can cause problems. Kill one thing at a time, and see how it affects your system. Some tasks are necessary and will start back up on it own.

Good luck.

After running a search and clicking on one result the computer freezes. Can't exit IE or close tab. Can open tab but problem still exists. must reboot? help Running OS Vista with IE8

open the task manager by pressing CTRL,ALT and DELETE at the same time and selecting task manager, click the applications tab and select IE8, then click on end process. This will stop the need to reboot.
I have had the exact same problem and now use firefox instead, faster and simpler to use. Plus there are so many addons that you can use for downloading and speeding things up.

My CPU usage is constantly a hundred percent.

When system boots click start button > run > type in box "msconfig" without quotation marks. Click on "selective startup" Go up to the startup tab > click on disable all. Click on apply and ok, reboot. When computer reboots, see if the processor is still running at a hundred %, if not then one of your start up processes is the culprit. You can go back into msconfig and check just those processes that you absolutely need to start up, like a third party wireless controller, anti-virus, malware/spyware, etc., but most of those startup processes you dont need to boot up.
